INTRODUCTION
1. Rationale
Ho Chi Minh’s Thought is the ideological foundation of our Party and the great
spiritual property of our people, guiding the struggle of our people to go to victory.
Promoting learning, applying and following his thoughts is an extremely important
and meaningful work for the Vietnamese revolution in the period of accelerating the
national industrialization, modernization and integration getting deeper and deeper.
Patriotism runs like a red thread throughout history, is a noble spiritual
product, holding the highest standard for morality and leading the ladder of cultural
and spiritual values of the Vietnamese nation. Patriotism acts as a great endogenous
motivation of the Vietnamese ethnic community, creating the unrivaled power in the
resistance wars against foreign aggression and in the cause of building the country.
Young people are the mainstay of the country, are the future owners of the
country, are the pioneering force in building and defending the Fatherland, which are
one of the factors determining the success or failure of the Vietnamese revolution.
Taking care, fostering and educating young people are really important and necessary
in order to ensure the stability and sustainable development of the country.
Nowadays, we are striving to build a Vietnam which is peaceful, rich,
independent, democratic and going up to socialism. This is a great and glorious career
but really arduous, complex and unprecedented. For the purpose of accomplishing
this career, one of the most important motivations is to promote learning, following
Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, arousing and highly promoting patriotism in the Party, in all
strata of the population, especially young generations who will be successors,
continuing to raise the flag of national independence associated with socialism to go
to the final victory.
Applying Ho Chi Minh’s Thought in the work of educating patriotism to young
people is a significant part of the ideological work of our Party. Over the past years,
this work has achieved encouraging results, for instance, the party committees led the
political system and the whole society to better perform the work of educating
