Mã đề thi: 401 Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions. It is reported that much of about 70 percent of global food supply consumed by urban people is thrown away. Although the causes of food waste vary from one region to another, generally poor food planning, inadequate packaging, improper storage and cultural practices are all contributing to the problem. In addition, food waste which is filling up the landfills decomposes and generates methane, a greenhouse gas that is more harmful to the planet than CO2. This scenario is a huge waste of food, energy, money and even natural resources such as land and water. Citywide measures for recovering safe and nutritious food and redistributing it through charities and food banks, composting or utilizing discarded food to generate energy can make a huge impact in reducing food waste. In Peru, the issues of food loss and waste have been solved by one of FAO's initiatives that has established a composting centre for managing biomass waste. As a result, the amount of disposed organic waste has been cut dramatically. (Adapted from https://www.fao.org/fao-stories) Question 1. Which of the following can be the best title for the passage? People who use social networking websites could be putting themselves at risk of becoming victims of identity theft. Identity fraud occurs when a criminal pretends to be someone else and uses stolen personal details to obtain goods or services. One in five of the UK population now visit social networking sites, and more and more consumers are signing up every day. The chances are that, when they register, they will enter their date of birth, address, e-mail address, job, and marital status. Fraudsters can use this information to steal an individual's identity and open a bank account or buy goods in their name. Giving away personal details such as the names of your children or pets is particularly risky since these are often used as passwords. Identity theft is a growing problem in the UK. About one in ten Britons claims to have been the victim of identity theft, and it is estimated that the crime costs the economy about £1.5 billion each year. Another potential problem is that social-networking sites have become a tool for potential employers. Twenty per cent of UK companies routinely conduct web searches to find background information about the people are applying for jobs with them. They are sometimes able to check if job applicants have described themselves honestly and accurately in their applications. Some employers also try to learn something about an applicant's personality and judge whether he or she is the kind of person they would like to recruit. Many of the young people who put photos and comments on these sites believe that the information is private, or only read by the other members of the site. But if you use social networking sites and you are applying for a job, you'd do well to make sure there is nothing online that you would not like your prospective employer to see.
