High quality of service (QoS) requirements in multi-priority wireless sensor networks pose new challenges to the Internet of Things (IoT). In a multi-event wireless sensor network (MWSN), nodes generate different types of data packets with different priority such as urgent (high priority) or normal (low priority), with different traffic proportion.

In this paper, a nonlinear path tracking controller based on a combination of kinematics and torque backstepping methods is applied to a nonholonomic Two-Wheeled Mobile Robot (WMR). The mobile robot is considered in terms of dynamics model in Cartesian coordinates and its parameters are exactly known.

In this paper, we propose a wavelet type-2 fuzzy brain imitated controller (WT2FBIC) for nonlinear robotic systems. The suggested method combines a wavelet type-2 fuzzy system (WT2FS) and a brain imitated controller (BIC) to improve learning efficiency.

To assess the T1 and extracellular volume (ECV) maps of left ventricle (LV) of patients with non-ischemic heart failure (NIHF) by cardiac MRI. In NIHF with preserved WT of LV, texture analysis of T1 and ECV maps showed difference in the mean value of native T1 and texture features, which is promising as a base for machine learning with future larger cohort.

Traffic control decisions for incident congestion management on expressways are often made in the face of uncertainty because it entails using many forms of both current and predicted traffic data and incident information to arrive at control decisions under critical-time pressure.

A Knowledge-based Decision Support System (KB-DSS) based on a multi-stage Fuzzy Logic Controller (MS-FLC) is developed for traffic congestion management on expressways. In a case study, the KB-DSS is evaluated on a simulated network in comparison to ALINEA\Q, a popular ramp control method, across various traffic and incident situations.

In low-cost permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive systems, the rotor position is usually estimated based on the back-electromotive force. However, such estimation methods have the common drawback of having large errors in low-speed regions. In order to solve that drawback in the startup phase, the I-f startup method is studied as its compatibility with the FOC control structure.

The inverted pendulum on a cart is a challenging and widely studied control problem in the fields of control systems and robotics. To address the need for more effective control strategies, this article presents a novel approach that combines the strengths of two powerful control techniques: Linear-Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy control.

Unexpected defects of concrete in a completed bored pile can arise during the construction stage. Therefore, post-construction testing of bored pile concrete is an important part of the design and construction process. The Cross-hole Sonic Logging (CSL) method has been the most widely used to examine the concrete quality.
