Study "Estimation of land surface temperature and vegetation dryness index (TVDI) in Bac Binh - Binh Thuan using remote sensing images" aim to determine the progress of drought through the years in Bac Binh district - Binh Thuan province by using remote sensing images. In detail, we use images from Landsat 7 ETM+ (2002, 2005, 2010) and Landsat 8 OLI (2014 and 2017) to estimate dryness indices: temperature vegetation dryness index (TVDI) and improved temperature vegetation dryness index.

The study "Drought monitoring using MODIS data and the Google Earth Engine platform, case study in Dak Lak province" was conducted to monitor drought conditions in Dak Lak province using satellite data and the GEE platform. Various drought indicators, such as the Vegetation Health Index (VHI) and the Normalized Differential Drought Index (NDDI), were obtained from multi-time MODIS satellite data and used to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution of dry conditions in Dak Lak province during the period from 2001 to 2020.

The prolonged drought due to climate change has significantly affected the agricultural production of rural communities in the mountainous and plain areas of Vietnam. We use the standardized precipitation index (SPI) combined with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) to simulate and forecast the impacts of drought on agricultural land use in Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province, in the study.

Correlation and path analysis was worked out among thirty chickpea genotypes with three replications under both rainfed and irrigated conditions utilising yield, drought tolerant traits and mechanical harvestable traits during rabi, 2018 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, India. Biological yield per plot and harvest index exhibited significant positive correlation with seed yield and drought tolerance index. 100 seed weight and number of pods per plant also contributed positively to DTI and seed yield under rainfed conditions.

The Present study was carried out in the wire-netting house of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kalahandi during Rabi 2014-15.The objective of the present endeavour was to screen 6 number of Paddy varieties (early group,75-85 days) for higher photosynthetic efficiency with higher productivity under simulated moisture stress conditions. The experiment was laid out in a factorial CRD with three stress treatments and three replications.

Thirty one mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) genotypes were screened for drought tolerance under laboratory conditions in CRD using PEG 6000 at different concentrations of -0.3 MPa, -0.6MPa and -0.9MPa. The genotypes showed reduction in germination percentage and shoot length and increase in root length under water stress condition. Screening of genotypes based on single morphological parameter appears to be limiting due to inconsistency in growth responses of different seedling parts.

Drought is major abiotic stress around the world which posturing great challenges to the germination, growth and production of crops. Early crop growth stages like germination and seedling growth are very critical under drought. Seed treatment technologies are required to enhance the germination and stress tolerant index of the seedlings under drought condition.
