In addition, we also show that our present solutions are valid for the problems of indentation by a rigid punch on an elastic half-space through a proper replacement of the contact radius and the corresponding material constant. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the accuracy, applicability, and versatility of the developed solutions.

This paper estimated the degree of elasticity substitution of inputs, particularly young labor, older labor, and physical capital. The elasticity of input substitution was estimated using a nested constant elasticity of substitution (CES) production function and nonlinear regression analysis. Research data were obtained from the annual secondary data of government sources from 1990 to 2013. The findings indicated that the input substitutability of young and older labor was low. However, capital and labor could substitute for each other.

The analytic expressions of the free energy, the mean nearest neighbor distance between two atoms, the elastic moduli such as the Young modulus E, the bulk modulus K, the rigidity modulus G and the elastic constants C11, C12, C44 for substitution alloy AB with interstitial atom C and BCC structure under pressure are derived from the statistical moment method.

Thermodynamic quantities such as mean nearest neighbor distance, free energy, isothermal and adiabatic compressibilities, isothermal and adiabatic elastic modulus, thermal expansion coefficient, heat capacities at constant volume and constant pressure, and entropy of binary interstitial alloys with a body-centered cubic (BCC) structure with a very small concentration of interstitial atoms are derived using the statistical moment method.

The elastic constants and various optical properties of MnIn2S4 including the dielectric constant, absorption coefficient, electron energy loss function and reflectivity were calculated as a function of incident photon energy. Those results are discussed in this study and compared with available experimental results.

Microfibrils and elastin are major constituents of elastic fibers, the assembly of which is dictated by multimolecular interactions.Microfibril-associated glycoprotein-1 (MAGP-1) is a microfibrillar component that interacts with the sol-uble elastin precursor, tropoelastin. We describe here the adaptation of a solid-phase binding assay that defines the effect of divalent cations on the interactions between MAGP-1 and tropoelastin. Using this assay, a strong cal-cium-dependent interaction was demonstrated, with a dis-sociation constant of 2.8 ± 0.3 nM, which fits a single-site binding model.
