Doctoral thesis of Philosophy: Modelling of inhomogeneous magnetic fields in electromagnetic devices
This thesis derives closed form equations to describe electromagnetic device characteristics for a toroid, solenoid and a case study induction machine. By considering stored magnetic field energy, this approach allows the relationship between electrical, magnetic and kinetic energy to be quantified and analyzed in ways that allows improved accuracy compared with conventional magnetic circuit modeling methods. This thesis also provides insights into how geometric parameters impact energy transfer and operational characteristics of electromagnetic devices.

This project is focused on studying the biological effects of low-power RF radiation on the expression and function of mechanosensitive ion channel protein (Piezo-1). To evaluate the effects of long-term exposures, cells were exposed at the frequency of 1800 MHz and power of 17 dBm for a period of 2 and 4 hrs using the transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell exposure system. To study the effects of short-term RF radiation (10 min), exposures emitted from the mobile phone headset at the frequency of 845 MHz and powers of -15 dBm and -5 dBm were applied to cell cultures.

Research purpose: to build an analytical model representing the cross Kerr nonlinear coefficient of a four-energy quantum system in the inverse Y configuration in the presence of the Doppler effect. Apply the analytical results to the case of 87Rb at room temperature. Studying the ability to control and enhance the cross Kerr nonlinearity according to the parameters of the associated laser field and the temperature of the environment.

Inductive proximity sensors are widely used in various applications to detect metal devices. They consist of an oscillator, trigger, and switching amplifier. If a metal object enters the electromagnetic field of the oscillator coil, eddy currents are induced in this coil which change the amplitude of oscillation, which causes the trigger stage to trip and the semiconductor output stage to switch.
