Keterite Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films were fabricated by spray pyrolysis deposition using aqueous precursor solutions with and without the addition of HCl. The effects of HCl on the crystallinity, morphology and photovoltaic properties of CZTS thin films were investigated. The results showed that the presence of HCl had significant effects on the crystal growth, grain size, and surface morphology of the fabricated CZTS thin films resulting in the improvement of the photovoltaic properties of the solar cell.

In this work, we have use a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition process (PECVD) to grow the SiNWs from Al thin films directly deposited on quartz substrates, the Al-catalyzed SiNWs thus obtained have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electrical measurements, including field- effect transistor evaluations.

Metal oxide nanomaterials are widely used in many applications of renewable energy. Ytterbium oxide (Yb2 O3 ) also attracts attention due to its similar structure to ZnO (~3,26 eV) and TiO2 (~3,36 eV) in terms of bandgap energy. In this study, Yb2 O3 belonging to the lanthanide oxide family was produced as nanofiber forms by using the electrospinning technique, which allows for large-scale production, for the first time.

This paper reports the optimization of the molybdenum thin film electrode as the back contact of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The molybdenum thin film was grown on the glass substrate by direct current sputtering techniques of which the sputtering power was 150 W at 18 sccm flow rate of Ar. At such sputtering parameters, the Mo film can reach the lowest resistivity of 1.28E−6 cm at 400 nm thick. And the reflection of Mo membrane was 82%. This value is considered as a very good result for preparation of the back contact of DSSC.

In this study, the Perovskite material CH3NH3PbI3 was prepared using two-step sequential solution deposition technique. The treatment condition for Perovskite film including dipping duration, reaction temperature and annealing temperature was studied. Crystal structure, grain size, and purity of the prepared material were examined using XRD and SEM methods.

In this work, boron-doped CQDs (B-CQDs) were synthesized by using boric acid, urea, and citric acid via hydrothermal method to use as a novel additive material for poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT):[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) based organic solar cells. The OSCs with an inverted device structure were fabricated on titanium dioxide (TiO2 ) thin film. It was showed the crystallinity, morphological and optical properties of P3HT:PCBM films improved after B-CQDs additive. The best performance was obtained to be a 39.65% of FF, a 546 mV of Voc, an 8.

This paper outlines the synthesis of the glass/FTO/Au/ and of the glass/FTO/Si/Au/ multilayers and some obtained experimental results. Based on the measured results we observed that the structure of the sputtered Si layer is an amorphous phase meanwhile the structure of the sputtered Au layer is a crystallized phase.

Undoped and Sn-doped ZnO films are deposited on glass substrates using a sol-gel spin coating technique with a doping concentration varying from 0% to 3 mol. The effects of Sn doping concentration on surface morphology, structural and optical properties of the ZnO films are investigated using scanning electron microscopy, an X-ray diffractometer and a UV-Vis-NIR system.

The effect of stacked Ga-doped MgxZn1xO (GMZO) thin films being the n-partner buffer layer and of the transparent conducting oxide (TCO) layer on the performance of CdTe thin film solar cells has been investigated. The diversity of the electrical and optical properties of GMZO films versus Ga and Mg doping concentrations suggested the use of low-Ga-doped MgxZn1xO (LGMZO) films as a high resistance transparent buffer layer.

In the present work, we have endeavored the utilization of wet-chemically synthesized copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs) as the active layer in hybrid bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. The BHJs with CuO-NPs display significantly different physics from customary BHJs, and prove a noteworthy improvement in their performance.
