Green vehicle routing problem

This paper presents an enriched variation of the original Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), in which traffic zones, CO2 emissions and heterogeneity of vehicles are all taken into consideration. Despite the extensive research already focused at VRP, its applicability in Supply Chain Management, has pushed researchers in investigating richer, and more realistic versions of VRP with various business constraints.

In order to describe this scenario more appropriately, the continuously reviewed Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) model is considered in this research work. The main goal is to identify the optimal production uptime and the production reorder point that ultimately minimize the expected value of total cost consisting of machine setup, deterioration, inventory holding, shortage and corrective maintenance cost.

This article discusses the ecological vehicle routing problem with a stop at a refueling station titled Green-Vehicle Routing Problem. In this problem, the refueling stations and the limit of fuel tank capacity are considered for the construction of a tour. We propose a variable neighborhood search to solve the problem.
