Late capitalism

This thesis investigated the major factors contributing to marketing success, as measured by average annual Return on Shareholders Funds, within the Australian corporate finance market, during the period 1983 to 1987. The study's findings are based on the analysis of the responses to a detailed mail questionnaire, and several follow-up in-depth interviews. The questionnaire was mailed to nearly five hundred of the most senior executives working in the corporate finance market in late 1987.

This research emphasises Marxist feminist standpoints in order to study typography in its commodity form. Undertaking a critical analysis of typography and the context in which it has been marketed and sold, I intend to problematise the fetishisation of language and interrogate its sociomaterial relations as expressions of commodity feminism within a postfeminist landscape.

The study is concerned with the conception of capital and income in the changing economic circumstances of the late nineteenth century. This issue arises as a matter of interest from the confusing accounting for capital assets then followed, and which has become the subject of a small but significant literature.
