Mesh generation

The paper "The behavior analysis of bolted end-plate connections under static load by using finite element method" investigates the mechanical behavior of bolted end-plate beam-to- column connections with changes of thin of end-plate and size of bolts under bending moment. The finite element models are generated in ANSYS software, in specially all of meshes are hexahedral meshes as well as be continuous at welding. The results obtained from this study are validated based on three factors: loading capacity, moment resistance and joint rotation.

In this paper, a commercial CFD code, ANSYS-Fluent has been used to investigate the effect of mesh number generated in the computed domain on the CFD aerodynamic performances of a container ship. A full-scale model of the 1200TEU container ship has been chosen as a reference model in the computation. Five different mesh numbers for the same dimension domain have been used and the CFD aerodynamic performances of the above water surface hull of the ship have been shown.

This study presents the topological optimization of a Yamaha DT 125 crankshaft. A shape generation was carried out using Autodesk Inventor software, in addition to a finite element analysis of previous and subsequent elements, in which the loading conditions are defined, restrictions and meshing. analyzing the mechanical behavior of this element under maximum operating conditions. Obtaining a Von Misses equivalent stress reduction of 10.74 %, weight of 5.25 % and a minimum safety factor increase of 10.73 %.

To overcome the challenge, this paper presents an investigation on jointly optimal joint routing, scheduling, channel assignment and power control in multi-radio multi-channel wireless mesh networks using a MAC layer based on Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). In which, a discrete fashion of power control and physical interference model is considered to find out an optimal solution for given rate demands. The computation complexity is reduced by applying the column generation algorithm in the optimize problem.

A 3D structured-mesh generation package has been developed using the transfinite interpolation (TFI) and/or the elliptic mesh generation methods to generate 3D structured meshes for the computational domain surrounding 3D regions (objects). A boundary stretching coefficient was used in the first method. And an attraction function was used in the second one. These stretching coefficient and attraction function are used to control the properties, i.e. the distribution density of the mesh points, of the meshes to be generated.

The MATLAB BVP solver of bvp4c is introduced as a Residual control based, adaptive mesh solver. An adaptive mesh solver is an alternative approach to that of a uniform mesh, which would specify a uniform grid of data points xi over the interval [xi, xi+1] and solve accordingly. The adaptive solver will adjust the mesh points at each stage in the iterative procedure, distributing them to points where they are most needed. This can lead to obvious advantages in terms of computational and storage costs as well as allowing control over the grid resolution.
