The cDNA encoding lipase enzyme was cloned from Olea europaea var. europaea cv. Gemlik leaves using the RACE method. The full nucleotide sequence was 1546 bp long and encoded a putative protein of 412 amino acid long protein. The amino acid sequence showed identity to Triacylglycerol Lipase 1 sequences from different plants. A phylogenetic tree was constructed showing relations with various plant lipases.

: The main goal of this work was to relate the germinative ecology and genetic variability of Chaerolhyllum aureum L., an Apiaceae plant with dormant, underdeveloped embryos at the time of seed dispersal. We compared the seed germination physiology traits between a relictic geographically isolated Mediterranean population (Iberian System; central Spain) and a population located in the main, colder Atlantic Alpine core (Pyrenees; northern Spain). We analyzed both populations’ genetic identity in parallel on the basis of ISSR–PCR analyses.

Nitrogenase activity and siderophore production were not detected in the selected bacterial isolate. The 16S rDNA sequencing revealed that the bacterial isolate was closely related to Enterobacter sp. with 99% maximum identity. This investigation led to identifying the natural associations between the most promising nodule associated bacterium and Mesorhizobium ciceri in chickpea and the positive influence of their interactions.

The present study was intended to delineate the Anti Helminthis activity of Ankolam leaf extract. The crude extract was obtained by the employment of Soxhlet extraction method. The extract was used to screen the antagonistic activity in vitro by taking Pheretima posthumous as the study subject. B y the employment of molecular sequencing the identity of plant was confirmed as Alangium salviifolium. The results obtained proved the capability of extract to down regulate the biological activities of subject. Mortality was induced by varying concentrations (100-1000 ppm/ml).

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri chickpea wilt, PCR, ITS Eight variants of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri were isolated from wilt infected chickpea plants from diverse locations of northern Karnataka. Genetic variability was studied by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification with specific primer and genetic identity among each variant was calculated and results depicted that there was minimum genetic variation among the variants collected from the diverse locations.
