Pronunciation mistakes

This study aimed to investigate some common mistakes in English pronunciation experienced by learners whose first language is Vietnamese and all of them are the first-year English-majored students at SIU. In other words this research also found out the main reason causing these problems, and some techniques for students to improve their pronunciation.

The research "Khóa luận tốt nghiệp Ngôn ngữ Anh-Nhật: A study on ending sound mistakes of the 2nd year students when studying speaking skills at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology" is carried out to investigate errors omission of ending sounds made by the second -year English majors at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology. This study helps them to increase awareness of their pronunciation problems. Besides, it also helps these students focus on the final pronunciation and gradually improve their speaking skills.

This study focuses on under- research- topic; therefore, there is no doubt about its notable contribution to the study of English speaking of either students or English teachers. It provides readers with common pronunciation errors in English that High School students may make. As few students can recognize their own pronunciation errors and know how to rectify them. Dioms are extremely difficult topics and merely well-understood by foreign English learners and even native speakers of English who take the idioms and proverbs for granted because when they use idioms, they do not know if they are using them. However, they really appreciate the idioms associated to attitudes and behaviors of speakers, so when they hear foreigners make grammatical or pronunciation mistakes, they are quite willing to accept and understand them, they might not understand what that person means and that leads to a misunderstanding and boring conversation.
