The present study aimed to investigate the extent of awareness regarding reproductive health among tribal adolescent girls. Present research aimed to study the factors associated with obesity among school going girls of Kumaun region of Uttarakhand. The multi-stage, purposive cum random sampling techniques was used to select the study area i.e. state, district, block, villages, school and school going girls from selected school. The Uttarakhand state’s Kumaun region was selected purposively. Haldwani and Bajpur block from district Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar respectively were selected purposively.

Malnutrition is largely prevalent in tribal population in India. In the year 2006, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj considered Sabarkantha as one of the country's 250 most backward districts (out of a total of 640). Six districts of Gujarat are receiving funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGF) and Sabarkantha is one of them. Considering this background in mind, the present study was carried out to assess prevalence of malnutrition amongst tribal children of Sabarkantha district. Two tribal taluka viz. Khedbrahma and Poshina were purposively selected for the study.

School age is the active growing phase of childhood. Primary school age ia a dynamic period of physical growth as well as of mental development of the child. Understanding the nutritional status of children has far reaching implications for the better development of future generations. The present study was undertaken to assess the nutritional status of 90 school going girls by assessing their general information, anthropometric measurements, and dietary assessment. Dietary assessment was done by 24 hour dietary recall method for three consecutive days.

These interventions call for a series of actions, including creation of an appropriate institutional framework to support women's training, market linkages, access to credit and child care facilities, schooling infrastructure including incentives designed to reduce the drop out rate for girls, and maternal health care facilities to be spread out into remote rural areas. Given the current state of data in and about Afghanistan and the limited experience with a variety of actions, it is not possible to quantify precisely the impact of these actions.

It also limits their ability to develop livelihoods that do not depend on natural resources, or to obtain wage-earning jobs. Thus, improved access to education is critical to lower rural poverty and decrease the dependence of rural poor on natural resources for their livelihood. In many countries girl children are less likely to go to school, and more likely to drop out early, because of economic and cultural pressures. This differentially affects their livelihood opportunities as they become adults.
