  • This article reports a novel and low temperature (275 C) synthesis of one-dimensional (1D) NWs of ZnTe on glass substrate. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDX) revealed that prepared NWs have good crystallinity and yield.

  • This paper assessed influence of dilution on the microstructure, mechanical properties and microhardness of a cobalt-based alloy deposited by plasma transferred arc (PTA) on three steel substrates. Dilution was analyzed by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Microstructure was analyzed by the optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Microhardness measured on the scross section of coatings. Analysis results show that, the dilution ratio, microstructure and microhardness of the coating influenced by the welding parameters and substrates.

  • The dTGA curves show three different steps of weight loss. This is due to the loss of water adsorbed, the elimination of the side chains, and the decomposition of the main chain. For LiClO4 filled PVA/MAA:EA, FTIR spectra showed disappearance of some bands with the change in their intensities as compared to pure PVA/MAA:EA film.

  • A solid acid membranes based on poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA), sodium bromide (NaBr) and phosphoric acid (H3PO4) were prepared by a solution casting method. The morphological, IR, electrical and optical properties of the (PVA)0.7(NaBr)0.3(H3PO4)xM solid acid membranes where x = 0.00, 0.85, 1.7, 3.4, 5.1 M were investigated. The variation of film morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies. FTIR spectroscopy has been used to characterize the structure of polymer and confirms the complexation of phosphoric acid with host polymeric matrix.
