In this study, the effect of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) treatments (10-3 and 10-5 M) and two different storage locations such as Ankara and Taşköprü, on some quality parameters, such as weight loss, L* values, soluble solids content, firmness, titratable acidity, total phenolic content, antioxidant capacity, vitamin C and allicin content in garlic bulbs (Allium sativum cv. ‘Taşköprü’) were investigated during a storage period of six months with three replications (30 bulbs or 120 g cloves).

An experiment was conducted at two locations at Navsari and Waghai for studying the efficacy of bioagents for management of sorghum grain mold. Six different treatments were studied among which four biological control agents along with control (water spray) and absolute control (no spray) were sprayed three times each at interval of 15 days from the date of commencement of flowering.

This research work investigated the occurrence of Salmonella pathogens in some water sources from Port Harcourt metropolis, Rivers State, Nigeria. Six different water samples, two each from each of the three selected water sources (Borehole, River and Well water) collected from Timber water side River and Choba River; two different wells located in Rumuolumeni, and two different boreholes located in Port Harcourt and were collected and evaluated for percentage occurrence of Salmonella species and other waterborne pathogens.

In Vietnam, the giant mottle eel Anguilla marmorata is the most widely distributed species and being exploited for seed in aquaculture as well as for human consumption. This study aims to investigate the basic nutritional components of the fish. The eels were collected from six locations of Thua Thien Hue province, with weights from 5 to 3200 g. In addition, the content of lipid in skin and tissue was also examined.

In six surveys conducted at 11 locations along the Pho Day River, Northern Vietnam, from April 2006 to April 2007, 1203 fish specimens were collected and analyzed. 87 species of fish of 66 genera, 20 families and 6 orders were found. No survey of Pho Day fish fauna had previously been conducted.

Colocasia or taro (Colocasia esculanta L.) is one of the important tuber crops, which has been grown by farmers in rain-fed ecosystem and considered as an important food crop after rice in Nagaland. The characterization of taro from 11 districts of Nagaland, Northeast India has been analyzed using microsatellite markers. Twenty eight microsatellite markers were used to analyze 50 accessions of taro collected from 11 district of Nagaland.

In this present study, different Rhizobial and Pseudomonas strains from different locations were collected and evaluated for their potential PGP activity. Among ten Rhizobial cultures GNR1 recorded the highest P solubilization zone (24.3 mm) conversely, P solubilization is highest in Pseudomonas isolates. Five cultures of Rhizobia and six cultures of Pseudomonas were able to solubilize potassium. The solubilisation zone is ranging from a maximum of 11.6 to a minimum of 8.3 mm.

This study aimed to find the gene action, GCA and SCA effects for yield, its components and micronutrients and their association with each other. For this, thirty six crosses (hybrids), nine parents and two checks ICTP 8203 Fe and ICMB 98222 (totalling 47 genotypes) were evaluated during Kharif 2014 at three locations viz., IARI, New Delhi (zone A), IARI Regional Centre, Dharwad (zone B) and National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Regional Station, Jodhpur (zone A1). These locations represented all pearl millet growing zones.

Fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda is an invasive alien pest that attacks mainly maize crop. Influence of weather parameter on the incidence of S. frugiperda larva on maize was studied during 2019-2020 at Cauvery Delta Zone, Tamilnadu, India. Random survey was conducted in six maize growing areas and correlation between larval population and weather parameters like maximum temperature, minimum temperature and rainfall was worked out. The larva population had significant positive correlation of both same (r = 0.32 to 0.45) and previous week (r = 0.21 to 0.52) at all the locations.

A study on thirty-six farmers’ seed samples collected from eight districts to analyse the health status of Garden pea were found to possess seed germination 10-15% which is below IMSCS (i.e. 75%) and carried 40.1-46% fungal count on seeds. Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Fusarium sp. and Pencillium sp. were fungi frequently associated with seeds which caused 24.4-55.6% reduction in germination and caused rotting of seed and seedling shoot and root.

Genotype-environment interaction and stability analysis has been important for plant breeders and plays a vital role in identifying genotypes that are stable or unstable in each environment. Varieties that show low G x E interaction and high yield are desirable for crop breeders. The study was conducted in 2018 at six locations in India to determine the presence of G x E of 171 single cross maize genotypes and to use the GGE biplot methodology to determine grain yield performance and stability of the genotypes evaluated across six environments.

Spermatogonial Stem Cells (SSCs) are unipotent adult stem cells, defined as the undifferentiated stem cells located along the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules. This present study is aimed to carry out the culture and characterization of SSCs in pre-pubertal age group of mice. Isolation of SSCs was done by two-step enzymatic digestion method and was seeded in a six-well plate. In primary culture (P0), colony forming unit was observed on day four post incubation. Mice Spermatogonial Stem Cells (mSSCs) adherence was observed on day eight post incubation.

The present study was carried out on heterosis for fruit yield and yield related traits in sponge gourd. Fifteen hybrids of sponge gourd were developed using six parents in half diallel fashion were studied for estimation of heterosis for 10 yield contributing traits. Hybrids PSG-82 × PSG-07-04, PSG-07-04 × PSG-161 and PSG-07-04 × PSG-199 were found most promising for earliness and yield. These hybrids exhibited heterosis to the tune of 59.36, 48.45 and 43.85 per cent over their better parents and 81.58, 69.16 and 63.

Investigations were made to determine the status of major targeted diseases of rice in different locations grown in agro climatic conditions of Jabalpur. With a view to determine the status of diseases in rice crop, survey was made in kymore plateau and satpura zone of Madhya Pradesh. Six different locations around Jabalpur (Panagar, Maharajpur, Patan road, Damoh road, Tilwara, Bhedaghat) and Seed production units at COA, Jabalpur were surveyed through random plot and fixed field survey method.

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri chickpea wilt, PCR, ITS Eight variants of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri were isolated from wilt infected chickpea plants from diverse locations of northern Karnataka. Genetic variability was studied by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification with specific primer and genetic identity among each variant was calculated and results depicted that there was minimum genetic variation among the variants collected from the diverse locations. At 0.01 similarity coefficient the variants separated into two clusters. Cluster A contained six variants viz.

The Present investigation was carried out to evaluate 42 sunflower hybrids, their parents involving seven cytoplasmic male sterile lines and six restorer lines along with three checks for their stability across three different locations of Telangana during Rabi, 2008- 09. Pooled analysis revealed that significant differences between genotypes and environments. Highly significant genotype × environment interaction for all the characters studied.

Twelve watershed projects located in six distressed districts of Karnataka (India) were evaluated. Various soil and water conservation (SWC) measures were implemented in the watersheds by concerned project implementing agencies (PIAs). Many lacunas and technical errors were observed in respect of executed SWC measures in the field while carrying out the evaluation work. Field observations on SWC measures related to site suitability, catchment, adequacy of design, quality, stability, siltation, vegetation, etc. are presented in this paper.

Ovariohysterectomy is a routine procedure that is recommended as one means of population control in cats. Different surgical approaches have been described in the literature for ovariohysterectomy in cats. Six adult queen cats of age 1-3 years, weighing 2.5 – 4 kg presented for ovariohysterectomy were selected for the study. A small incision stab technique on left lateral flank was performed.
