This paper presents the upper bound limit analysis of a slope in cohesive-frictional soils using the node-based smoothed finite element method (NS-FEM). The soil slope was discretized as triangular elements and modeled as Mohr-Coulomb material with the associated flow rule.

This paper has aimed to investigate the slope stability for various conditions like embankment geometry, water level and soil property. The analysis has been performed by using the XSTABL program for di erent slope heights, slope angles and ood conditions with a xed soil cohesion value. Since the rapid drawdown is the worst case for a particular embankment therefore, the analysis has been further performed with di erent cohesion values. From this investigation it has been noticed that the increase of cohesion of soil can increase the stability to a great extent.

Study on hydraulic stability and structural integrity of RAKUNA-IV armour units when randomly placed on the seaward slope of a rubble mound breakwater by means of experiments on physical models in a wave flume and simulations in mathematical models. The results of the research were later applied to a specific breakwater. Recommendations and solutions were thereby put forward for the design, production and construction of RAKUNA-IV armour units when applied to rubble mound breakwaters in reality.

Purposes of the research Building a new method (method directly applicable limit theorem) evaluate soil stabilization in accordance with the actual working of the soil environment, the study contributes to the development of stable subgrade; applying the above method to build a computer program, set the tables and nomogram helps engineers quickly determine the height and slope of embankment limited.
