Studying FG beams

This paper studies dynamic behavior of an inclined sandwich beam with a homogeneous core and functionally graded carbon nanotube reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) face sheets under a moving mass. The effective properties of the face sheets are estimated by the extended rule of mixture.

Large deflections of FG-CNTRC sandwich beams partially supported by a two-parameter elastic foundation are studied in this paper by a nonlinear finite element procedure. The core of the beams is homogeneous while the top and bottom are of CNTRC material.
