Suitable alternative fuel

This work is based on the performance of biodiesel blends with diesel in providing for a suitable alternative fuel. There are various methods in which the biodiesel blends are made. Every approach uses the preparation of biofuel initially from a parent oil blend. Here cottonseed oil is taken to make biodiesel. For the conversion ionic liquids have been used as catalysts.

Pine waste generated as needle biomass is a serious threat to our environment in Himachal Pradesh in terms of recalcitrance of soil as well as forest fire. According to forest department, 22% of total forest in state is fire prone due to pine trees abundance and their needles being rich in antimicrobial compounds are not degraded down easily in nature.

The most mechanized agricultural operations include a tractor as a primary power unit, even though the tractor itself is not particularly useful without an implement attached. Innovations and efficiency improvements in tractor engines, powertrains, and auxiliary power systems have been ongoing since tractors were invented a century ago and significant gains have been realized. However, PTO and hydraulic power systems are well established and effective for today‟s applications, the search for more versatile and efficient power transfer continues.
