The finite volume difference method

In this study, a surrogate model based on artificial neural networks (ANN) will be established to predict the mechanical behaviors of the plastic Primitive TPMS reinforced beams. Finite element analysis (FEA) simulation results of different numbers of reinforcement layers and volume fractions were adopted as the model data, the robust model have been owing to a hyperparameter tuning investigation.

The paper presents the results of simulation and study of mixture - oil, gas and water - flows in porous medium using three-phase, three dimensional "Black oil" model. For discretizing the system of mathematical equations, the finite volume difference method was used. To solve numerically the system of discretized equations the IMPES and iterative methods were chosen.

Transonic flow is a mixed flow of subsonic and supersonic regions. Because of this mixture, the solution of transonic flow problems is obtained only when solving the differential equations of motion with special treatments for the transition from subsonic region to supersonic region and vice versa. We built codes solving the full potential equation and Euler equations by applying the finite difference method and finite volume method, and also associated with software Fluent to consider the viscous effects.

The paper is dedicated to researching a numerical model for dam-break simulation, which is verified through a comparison between calculated results and observed data of two reference tests. The numerical model is applied to simulate the flooding wave for the Malpasset dam-break event, which occurred in southern France in 1959.
