Poly(ethylene glycol) bis(methylimidazolium) di[bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide] was synthesized as an ionic liquid and impregnated onto chitosan. The removal of uranium(VI) ions from aqueous solution was investigated with batch sorption tests using ionic liquid impregnated chitosan. Response surface methodology based on 3 level Box– Behnken design was applied to analyze the effect of initial pH (4–6), initial concentration (20–60 mg L −1 ), contact time (15–105 min), and temperature (30–50°C) on the uptake capacity of uranium(VI).

The map of the field is based on the analysing the chain of associations between the papers (Latour, 1987). The strategy for this review is informed by the methodology described by Callon et al. (1986) on following the construction of the arguments. The first search was conducted in EBESCO and Web of Science looking for papers dealing with design management; “design management”; innovat* and design* in the management, including title, keywords and abstract. It resulted in 8,216 articles that were exported and downloaded in a database.

In this paper, we introduce a hedge-algebras-based methodology in vibration control of structural systems to design fuzzy controllers, referred to as hedge-algebras-based controllers (HACs). In this methodology, vague linguistic terms are not expressed by fuzzy sets, but by inherent order relationships between vague terms existing in a term-domain. Semantically quantifying mappings (SQMs), which preserve semantics-based order relationships in termdomains, are defined in a close relationship with the fuzziness measure and the fuzziness intervals of vague terms.

Transformers are regarded as crucial components in power systems. Due to market globalization, power transformer manufacturers are facing an increasingly competitive environment that mandates the adoption of design strategies yielding better performance at lower costs. In this paper, a power transformer design methodology using multi-objective evolutionary optimization is proposed. Using this methodology, which is tailored to be target performance design-oriented, quick rough estimation of transformer design specifics may be inferred.

This article introduces a methodology of designing a wavelet operator suitable for multiscale modeling. The operator matrix transforms states of a multivariable system onto projection space. In addition, it imposes a specific structure on the system matrix in a multiscale environment. To be specific, the article deals with a diagonalizing transform that is useful for decoupled control of a system.

The conditions of the hydrothermal carbonization process to produce biochar from coffee husk will be optimized for maximum yield. Besides, response surface methodology (RSM) and central composite face-centered (CCF) method will be used in designing experiments. Also, the optimal value of factors such as temperature, time and biomass: water ratio which can provide a maximum yield of biochar will be worked out using Modde 5.0.

Instead of assembling a new MBA program from existing courses, we chose to first develop a concep- tual foundation that tries to integrate these components based on a common vision and a common set of methods and models. Parallel to the ‘Enterprise Engineer’ approach by Martin (1995), Business Engi- neering was been proposed initially in the mid 1990s as a holistic methodology for the conceptualiza- tion, design, and implementation of IT-enabled business transformation.

A communication circuit designer frequently requires means to select (or reject) a band of frequencies from a wide signal spectrum. Resonant circuits provide such ®ltering. There are well-developed, sophisticated methodologies to meet virtually any speci®cation. However, a simple circuit suf®ces in many cases. Further, resonant circuits are an integral part of the frequency-selective ampli®er as well as of the oscillator designs. These networks are also used for impedance transformation and matching.
