In this paper, a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method is employed to classify the crack/noncrack aerial images captured on the surface of concrete structures. The CNN model was trained and validated using the available experimental data of 4000 previously published images.

The objective of this study is to investigate the hotspot (fires and other thermal anomalies) detection and characterization product from the TET-1 satellite sensing system from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). The satellite is envisioned, as part of a constellation of satellites, to provide detection and characterization of fires at a higher spatial resolution when compared to the current standard global coverage from the MODIS fire products.

A simple and inexpensive method was developed using liquid - liquid extraction, together with high performance chromatographic method for determination of methoxyfenozide residues in grapes. The evaluated parameters include the extracts by distilled water and acetonitrile solvents. In this paper, a novel method is presented to detect spam content on the web. It is based on classification and employs an idea from biology, namely, danger theory, to guide the use of different classifiers. The evaluation of content features of WEBSPAM-UK2007 data set using 10-fold cross-validation demonstrates that this method provides high evaluation criteria in detecting web spam.

Any one of the media evaluated can interchangeably be used as an obligatory isolation medium for the detection and enumeration of L. monocytogenes in foods, and for the detection in feed-stuffs. In this paper we address the problem of extracting features relevant for predicting protein±protein interaction sites from the three-dimensional structures of protein complexes. Our approach is based on information about evolutionary con-servation and surface disposition. We implement a neural network based system, which uses a cross validation proce-dure and allows the correct detection of 73% of the residues involved in protein interactions in a selected database comprising 226 heterodimers.
