Impact of shading on wheat crop in poplar based agroforestry practice of northern plain of Uttar Pradesh, India

The present study was conducted in 2014–15 in five tehsils (Behat, Deoband, Nakur, Rampur Maniharan and Saharanpur) of Saharanpur district which is north-western part of Uttar Pradesh, India to observe the effect of shading of border plantation of poplar (Populus deltoides) on wheat crop. The four parameters (total tillers per plant, ineffective tillers per plant, grain yield and biological yield) were recorded.
