Mater major programme thesis English linguistics: Gender bias through pictures in the new English textbook set for Vietnamese primary schools - A critical discourse analysis

The research attempts to detect the presence of gender bias as a social phenomenon through pictures in the new English textbook set for Vietnamese primary schools in order to extract the ideology behind their constructions. To be specific, it 1/ examines how different genders are represented via pictures in the new English textbook set for Vietnamese primary schools, and 2/ finds out whether gendered visual representations illustrate gender bias in this textbook set.
