Molecular characterization of cellulolytic bacteria derived from termite gut and optimization of cellulase production

Cellulolytic bacteria were previously isolated from the termite guts and efforts were taken to optimize parameters for cellulase production. Activities of diversity of enzymes which include, CMCase, avicelase and filterpaperase (FPase) were studied from crude cellulase extracts. CMCase activity was found optimum at different temperatures (35°C, 40°C and 45°C) at pH 7 and after 48 hrs of incubation time.
