Morphology, taxonomy and lifestyle of the maastrichtian rudist bivalve Thyrastylon

The rudist bivalve Thyrastylon is redescribed based on extensive material collected from Jamaica. The new material shows that the left valve contains slits, and that this is the diagnostic feature of the genus.
