This project examines how the moving image can be used as a vehicle of memory, to express what is lost, what is gained and what changes occur in relation to personal family migratory history—a messy and ambiguous process. This practice-led research project investigates video work, using filmed materials and objects, to focus attention on the non-linear aspect of time as it is subjected to individual and collective memories. The outcomes highlight the sometimes disconnecting and unpredictable experiences of migration, storytelling, and memory.

Through this body of work it was found that both lysozyme and sfGFP remained in their native state in each of the selected PILs at 1 mol% IL: water concentrations. Both selected proteins were stable to highest proportions of PILs which contained the propylammonium cation and the acetate anion. This was contrary to some previously reported studies where the elongation of the alkyl chain length provided a greater stabilising effect than the shorter chained ILs.

The simulation results demonstrate the possibilistic particle forward-backward smoothing performs well and improves bearings-only tracking performance. Furthermore, possiblistic smoothing also demonstrates better performance than probabilistic smoothing in model-mismatched case.

These formal definitions often seem far stronger than necessary for practical security — many cryptosystems used in practice do not satisfy the formal definitions. This includes typical ElGamal implementations. The attacks discussed in this paper suggest that it is worth striving to meet formal definitions of security in actual implementations.
