Production and yield is depending upon the micro climate around the crop. So, for knowing the effect of climatic condition around the crop during production period is a main aspect in modern agriculture production system and there is need to develop a strategies to mitigate the climate affect and response of plant growth regulators and micronutrients for achieving higher fruit yield.

The planting of single eye bud settling at 60 cm gave significantly superior cane yield at harvest than rest of treatments. On the basis of pooled results, it is concluded from the study that for getting higher yield of sugarcane crop can be achieved with 120 cm x 60 cm (R2S2) inter and intra row spacing, respectively through single eye bud settlings under south Gujarat condition.

An experiment was conducted at Department of Agronomy, Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam to achieve enhanced remuneration and profit margin in irrigated finger millet through intercropping and mulching. Among mulching, the highest gross return (Rs.68,336/- ha-1 ) and B:C ratio of 2.16 was obtained in rice straw mulch (M1) which was followed by M2 (shredded coconut waste mulch) with a gross return of Rs.63,635/- ha-1 and B:C ratio of 2.01. Similar trend in net return was observed because of higher crop yield.

Heterosis is one of the greatest practical achievements of plant breeding and has been extensively used in crop improvement in okra. The production of hybrid cultivars with higher fruit yield and quality characters has become increasingly important in recent years due to continuous demand. In the present study, 14 genetically diverse okra parents were crossed in Line x Tester fashion to explore magnitude of heterosis.

A study was conducted on brinjal to identify superior parental combinations and to estimate the magnitude of heterosis for yield and its component traits. Higher heterosis for fruit yield per plant over commercial check was exhibited by the cross JBL-08-08 x NSR-1(33.47 %) followed by AB-09-1 x NBB-1 (28.21 %), GBL – 1 x NSR -1 (23.52 %) and GBL – 1 x NBB – 1 (17.25%).

A field experiment was conducted during 2015-16 at Agricultural Research Station, Mudhol, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad to evaluate different methods of irrigation to achieve higher target yield levels in sugarcane. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with 12 treatment combinations and three replications. Among the irrigation methods, subsurface (224 t ha-1 ) and surface drip irrigation (217 t ha-1 ) recorded significantly higher cane and sugar yield.

The higher wheat grain production will be needed to meet the demand of ever growing population which can be achieved by increasing the productivity and reducing the losses caused by biotic and abiotic stresses. All the three rusts along with Karnal bunt and loose smut in favorable environments causing significant yield losses in wheat.

Wheat being the most widely used staple food throughout the world requires sustainable increment in productivity. Although mechanization in agriculture in developed countries helped in overcoming different adversities, in Indian sub-continent it is not an easy task. Practices associated with wheat sowing i.e. time, seed rate and depth, spacing, seed treatment are of immense importance in achieving a higher yield of the crop by utilizing available material inputs and environmental resources.

The paper aims at optimising and validating possible routes toward the full valorisation of grape agrowaste to produce bioactive molecules and new materials. Starting from Merlot red pomace, phenol complex mixtures were successfully extracted by using two different approaches. Extracts obtained by solvent-based (SE) technique contained up to 46.9 gGAeq/kgDW of total phenols. Depending on the used solvent, the prevalence of compounds belonging to different phenol families was achieved.

The high density plantation approach is in vogue these days to mitigate the effects of decreasing area under the saffron cultivation. The approach has found wide adoption due to increase in the production and productivity of flowers as well as corms. A study was conducted wherein the graded and disease free corms were planted at different densities viz. 5corms/hill (25 X15cm), 10 corms/ hill (30 X 20 cm), 12 corms/hill (30 X 20cm) and 15 corms/hill at the density of 20X10 cm after following the recommended package of practices.

Aerobic rice is a new way of cultivating rice that requires less water than lowland rice. Direct sown aerobic rice suffers more due to weed menace as the weeds and rice compete for growth factors together. Achieving higher rice grain yields under aerobic conditions requires better weed management practices. Hence, the aerobic rice should be focused primarily on efficient weed management to make aerobic rice cultivation more efficient in terms of returns on farmer investments and use of water resources.
