Congenital bladder exstrophy is a rare malformation which is often associated with pubic diastasis and hip dysplasia. We reported the case two patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty (THA) due to advanced osteoarthritis combined with large congenital pubic diastasis (>10 cm).

Although varus inclination of the tibial plateau has increasingly been recognized as a major risk factor in the progression of Osteoarthritis of the knee (OA knee), little attention has been placed on the development of the varus inclination of the tibial plateau.

Pain is the principal symptom in knee osteoarthritis (OA). Current non-operative treatment options have only moderate effects and often patients experience persistent pain or side-effects. Novel advances in the field of cryoneurolysis applies low temperatures to disrupt nerve signaling at the painful area, providing pain relief.

Arthroscopic glenohumeral debridement for symptom control has shown promising short term results in the young active population, when arthroplasty may not be a practical option due to the recommended activity restrictions, potential for complications and/or early wear, and a need for revision.

Although little is known, a limited number of three-dimensional computed tomography (CT) images of the pelvis present focal concavity of posterior superior acetabulum. The purpose of the present study was to investigate this morphologic deformity and its relation with dysplasia and retroversion in adults who were expected to have the original morphology of the acetabulum after growth.

Recent advances in imaging modalities have enabled three-dimensional preoperative simulation. A four-dimensional preoperative simulation system would be useful for debridement arthroplasty of primary degenerative elbow osteoarthritis because it would be able to detect the impingement lesions.

Advanced osteoarthritis and total joint replacement (TJR) recovery are painful experiences and often prompt opioid use in developed countries. Physicians participating in the philanthropic medical mission Operation Walk Boston (OpWalk) to the Dominican Republic have observed that Dominican patients require substantially less opioid medication following TJR than US patients.

Femoral neck fractures are a common occurrence in patients suffering from osteoporosis, while intracapsular hip fracture is rare in cases of osteoarthritis of the hip. Previous histomorphometric studies have emphasized the association between bone microarchitecture and the risk of low-impact fractures in osteoarthritis and osteoporosis patients.

Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is a common and generally effective procedure performed mainly due to advanced osteoarthritis, pain, physical disability and reduced quality of life. However, approximately 20% of the patients respond poorly to the surgery and chronic pain and disability following TKA remains a major health burden for many patients.

To determine effects of allogeneic human chondrocytes expressing TGF-β1 (TG-C) on structural progression of MRI features of knee osteoarthritis over a 1 year period. Intraarticular treatment with TG-C showed fewer patients in the treated group with progression in structural OA features and other MRI-defined inflammatory markers such as Hoffa-synovitis and effusion-synovitis.

Reductions in lower extremity muscle strength, size and quality and increased fat content have been reported in advanced hip osteoarthritis (OA). Whether these differences are also evident at earlier stages of the disease and the extent to which they might develop over time is unclear.

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, principally affecting the older population. Highly prevalent, disabling diseases such as osteoarthritis strain the capacity of health systems, and can result in unmet need for services. The Joint Clinic was initiated to provide secondary care consultations and access to outpatient services for people with advanced hip or knee osteoarthritis, who were referred by their general practitioner for orthopaedic consultation but not offered an orthopaedic specialist appointment.

Method: Ninety-six patients (101 knees) with advanced osteoarthritis (OA) scheduled for total knee replacement completed Romanian translations of KOOSJR and IKDC (International Knee Documentation Committee – subjective knee form) and Euroqol EQ-5D-5 L, and the treating physician completed the original knee society score (KSS).

he explains that loss of the fluid-attaining proteoglycans (Pg) inside the cartilage collagen network is the earliest indicator of osteoarthritis. loss of Pgs increases the water permeability of cartilage and decreases the tissue stiffness, leading researchers to propose proteoglycans as an important marker for the early detection of osteoarthritis. To precisely determine the Pg content in cartilage, lu is investigating a mechanical testing approach with the aid of advanced theoretical modeling.

So, who is eligible to embark on a full-scale attack on another language in the sense we defined in the introduction, that is, being fluent in reading newspapers and understanding TV documentaries and day-to- day conversation? It all depends on time. If you have little or no time – think of busy physicians – or prefer to dedicate your time to geology, neuroscience, or evolutionary biology, new languages are out of reach. Apart from these two cases, however, anyone who demonstrated the ability to learn the language of their parents are entitled to learn their next language....
