Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) is widely studied because of its foliar steviol glycosides. Fructan-type polysaccharides were recently isolated from its roots. Fructans are reserve carbohydrates that have important positive health effects and technological applications in the food industry.

Lotus is an aquatic horticultural crop that is widely cultivated in most regions of China and is used as an important off-season vegetable. The principal root of lotus is degenerated, and adventitious roots (ARs) are irreplaceable for plant growth.

The root growth angle (RGA) typically determines plant rooting depth, which is significant for plant anchorage and abiotic stress tolerance. Several quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for RGA have been identified in crops. However, the underlying mechanisms of the RGA remain poorly understood, especially in apple rootstocks.

In China, lotus is an important cultivated crop with multiple applications in ornaments, food, and environmental purification. Adventitious roots (ARs), a secondary root is necessary for the uptake of nutrition and water as the lotus principle root is underdeveloped.

Melatonin (MT) is important for plant growth and development; however, it is not known whether MT is involved in apple adventitious root (AR) development. In this study, we treated Malus prunifolia (MP) at four different stages of AR development, and analyzed the level of the endogenous hormones MT, auxin (IAA), zeatin-riboside (ZR), abscisic acid (ABA), and gibberellins (GA1+3) in all four treatment groups and the untreated control group.

Propagation of cuttings is frequently used in various plant species, including blueberry, which shows special root characteristics that may hinder adventitious root (AR) formation. AR formation is influenced by various factors, and auxin is considered to play a central role; however, little is known of the related regulatory mechanisms.

It is widely perceived that mechanical or thigmomorphogenic stimuli, such as rubbing and bending by passing animals, wind, raindrop, and flooding, broadly influence plant growth and developmental patterning.

Study of adventitious root formation derived from node of morinda officinalis how. cultured in vitro
In this study, the role of IBA (indole3-butyric acid), method of placing node on root induction were investigated. The results showed that SH (Schenk & Hildebrandt) medium supplemented with 2 mg/L IBA was suitable for adventitious root induction of Morinda officinalis cultured in vitro.

An experiment was arranged in a factorial completely randomized design with an aim to investigate the effect of short term waterlogging on four popular Khariftomato cultivars of Odisha (Utkal Pallavi, Utkal Dipti, Utkal Kumari and Utkal Pragyan). 45 days old tomato plants were subjected to 15 cm of stagnant water for a period of 0,1,2 and 3 days. High survivability under 1 and 2 days of waterlogging were recorded in U.Kumari of about 80%and 60% respectively because of high adventitious root formation, whereas all the plants died under 3 days of waterlogging due to root hypoxia.

Hybrids of larch (Larix kaempferi × Larix olgensis) are important afforestation species in northeastern China. They are routinely propagated via rooted stem cuttings. Despite the importance of rooting, little is known about the regulation of adventitious root development in larch hybrids.

Adventitious rooting is an organogenic process by which roots are induced from differentiated cells other than those specified to develop roots. In forest tree species, age and maturation are barriers to adventitious root formation by stem cuttings.

Adventitious roots (AR) develop from tissues other than the primary root, in a process physiologically regulated by phytohormones. Adventitious roots provide structural support and contribute to water and nutrient absorption, and are critical for commercial vegetative propagation of several crops.

Adventitious root (AR) formation in axillary shoot tip cuttings is a crucial physiological process for ornamental propagation that is utilised in global production chains for young plants. In this process, the nitrogen and carbohydrate metabolisms of a cutting are regulated by its total nitrogen content (Nt), dark exposure during transport and irradiance levels at distinct production sites and phases through a specific plasticity to readjust metabolite pools.

The complex process of formation of storage roots (SRs) from adventitious roots affects sweetpotato yield. Identifying the genes that are uniquely expressed in the SR forming cultivated species, Ipomoea batatas (Ib), and its immediate ancestral species, Ipomoea trifida (It), which does not form SRs, may provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying SR formation in sweetpotato.
