  • The epidemic outbreak of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) was continuing specially from 2014 onwards and taking toll of pediatric age group distributed in different blocks of Gaya district of Bihar, India. In an extensive survey during outbreak (2016), a case of high fever history was diagnosed having Chandipura virus out of 24 acute fever cases admitted at Anugrah Narayan Memorial Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMMCH) Gaya. Off which nine cases were from Gaya district. The age group of affected cases was 1-15 years. Male were affected more than females (M:F::55.5:44.4).

  • A total 116 dogs were presented with various affections of the ear, among them 67 (57.76%) cases were having the symptoms of otitis. The higher incidence was found in the age groups of 1-5 year (44.77%, n=30) followed other age groups. The breed wise incidence of was found to be highest in the Labrador (35.82%, n=24) followed by other breeds. 35 cases had bilateral (52.23%), 21 dogs had only right side ear (31.34%) involvement and 11 dogs had left side ear (16.41%) infection. Out of total 67 cases 58.20 percent (n=39) cases were male and 41.80% percent (n=28) cases were female.

  • During the three years (2015-2017), 68 patients having CBD stones concomitant gallstones suitable criteria for inclusion at Hue Central Hospital. Retrospective clinical description study. Results: the average age is 52.2±12.5 years (24-90) and the male/ female ratio is 0.7/1 (27/41). Abdominal pain was the most common symptom 91.2%, which was followed by jaundice 51.5%; direct bilirubin increased by 27.3±15.6 μmol/l (2.2-165). The size of CBD stones is 12.4±3.2 mm (6-20), the size of gallstones is 11.3±6.2 mm (5-36). The first time CBD stones 95.6%, recurrent CBD stones 4.4%.

  • New cases of active pulmonary tuberculosis admitted to our critical care unit from January 1999 to January 2006 were identified. Data were collected retrospectively from medical records including demographics, clinical presentation, number of sputum samples, therapy provided and patient outcome.
