The first set represented the northern population located in the north of the country. That region is characterized by dry climate conditions. The northern population appeared more diversified and accessions were typically of the bunch type with lower phenological, vegetative and yield traits. The second set was less diversified.

The present experiment was conducted in on 220 cultivars of mustard to measure the correlation path analysis of agro-morphological traits on yield. Observation of ten agromorphological traits viz. Days to 50% Flowering, Plant height (cm.), No. of primary branches, No. of secondary branches, Days to maturity, Length of siliqua, No. of siliqua / plant, No. of seeds/siliqua, 1000 seed weight (gm.), Yield/plant (gm.) were recorded to analyze the data.

The present study was carried out to screen the improved lines with the foreground markers of Xa21, xa13, xa5, Xa33 and Xa38 and the confirmed plants were evaluated for phenotypic resistance against the local isolate of BB under the controlled conditions. Further, the lines harboring BB resistance genes were evaluated for key-morphological traits to identify the superior genotypes.

Plant growth regulating hormones, Agromorphological traits, Normal & late sown conditions, Glycine betaine (600 PPM), Salicylic acid (800 & 400 PPM), Ascorbic acid (10 PPM), Tocopherol (150 PPM), Elevated temperature, Heat stress Low productivity (2680 Kg/hectare) (Directorate of Agriculture, Govt. of Bihar; 2012-13) in Bihar is mainly due to late sowing of wheat coupled with prevalent of hot westerly wind during grain filling stage. The wheat production in state can be increased by two means, either by horizontal expansion or by vertical expansion i.e.

Rice is the world‟s second most important cereal crop and staple food for more than 60 per cent of the global population. This paper focuses on morphological characterization using DUS discriptors for seventy five “speciality rices called soft rice genotypes” collected from different parts of north-east Assam. The lines were characterized for 62 agromorphological traits using DUS discriptors following UPOV guidelines (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants).

The diversity of rice germplasm is the base of rice improvement programmes. Various agromorphological traits of five randomly selected plans were recorded for the evaluation of 36 green super rice germplasm. Analysis of variance indicated difference among genotypes were highly significant for the entire traits under studied, this indicated that these genotypes have sufficient amount of variation.

Fourteen cucumber accessions collected from different Northeast states of India were analysed for variations by means of agro-morphological traits and palynological characteristics. Phenotypic variations in fruit length (19.20 cm – 28.33 cm, fruit width 5.0 cm – 7.3 cm), number of locules (3 – 4/fruit), seed length (0.8 cm – 1.2 cm), seed width (0.3 cm – 0.43 cm) and weight of 100 seeds (1.0 gm – 3.4 gm/ accessions) were observed. Variations were also observed in pollen characteristics among the accessions.

Garlic (Allium sativum) is second important allium crop grown in India after onion. It spite of exclusively propagated by vegetative method, crop shows wide variation in agromorphological traits. For developing varieties with good yield and other favourable traits use of breeding techniques in an option. But in garlic, inability of formation of seed becomes barrier for using introgression breeding techniques.

We studied 200 trees belonging to 20 accessions of cultivated olive (O. europaea L.) from 4 regions of origin, evaluated by means of agromorphological traits and simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. The agromorphological traits showed high variation between genotypes and significant correlation coefficients were obtained among the values recorded in two consecutive years, 2013 and 2014.
