Wheat mutant resources with phenotypic variation have been developed in recent years. These mutants might carry favorable mutation alleles, which have the potential to be utilized in the breeding process. Plant architecture and yield-related features are important agronomic traits for wheat breeders and mining favorable alleles of these traits will improve wheat characteristics.

The IWGSC strategy for construction of the reference sequence of the bread wheat genome is based on first obtaining physical maps of the individual chromosomes. Our aim is to develop and use the physical map for analysis of the organization of the short arm of wheat chromosome 5B (5BS) which bears a number of agronomically important genes, including genes conferring resistance to fungal diseases.

India uses only 10% agricultural equipment’s as conducted survey in Year 2012. Now a day’s India has second rank worldwide in farm output. Agriculture like forestry and fishers accounted for 13.7GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in 2013, about 50% of the total man power. Precision sowing has been a major thrust of agricultural engineering research for many years; however, most of the research and development work has dealt with seeders for agronomic crops. A seeder should place a seed in an environment in which the seed will reliably germinate and emerge.

Sorghum shoot fly [Atherigona soccata (Rondani)] is one of the most important pests of grain sorghum. It is important to understand the nature of gene action to breed for resistance to the target insect pest. In the present study, a population of 259 sorghum recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from cross 296B (shoot fly susceptible) x IS 18551 (shoot fly resistant) were evaluated in shoot fly screening nursery to study the inheritance of shoot fly resistance. Variances due to RIL genotypes (G), screening environment (E) and G x E interactions were significant for the traits studied.

In order to establish pure lines of sponge gourds containing aroma features, we selected the desirable inbred lines by using a self-pollinating method. The present study was performed to estimate the morphological traits and fruit quality of six sponge gourd inbred lines which generated at the 4 th generation of an aroma Luffa accession B29 under plastic house conditions.
