  • This study aims at determining the mass concentrations of PM and health risks on pollution event days (episodes) in Ha Noi. Semi-daily samples (daytime and night-time) of PM2.5 and PM0.1 were collected at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in December 2021. The daily PM2.5 concentrations were in the range of 39 - 204 µg/m3 (average of 119 µg/m3).

  • Air pollution is getting worse in Viet Nam in recent years, particularly in big cities. The most important source of pollution are traffic and industrial activities. The paper "A Review on Current Status of Urban Air Pollution in Ho Chi Minh city and Ha Noi" reviews air pollution situation in Ho Chi Minh city and Ha Noi. We also recommend policies to tackle the problem: (i) upgrade the national air quality standard, (ii) install systematic and high-quality network of monitor stations, and (iii) remove means of transport that unmet emission regulations.

  • The combustion of biomass and coal significantly contributes to the total health burden due to the emission of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. To determine the personal exposure related to beehive coal stove cooking in Hanoi, an assessment study on 120 females in three wards (Tran Hung Dao, Phuc Tan, and Chuong Duong) of Ha Noi city, Viet Nam was conducted. Personal and ambient concentrations of PM2.5 and CO (upwind, nearsource, far-source) were simultaneously measured twice a day at each household by PATS++ equipment developed by Berkeley Air Monitoring group.

Recently, Quang et al. conducted a study on the number concentration of ultrafine particles in indoor and outdoor air in Ha Noi [3]. Occurrence of phthalate diesters in indoor air in northern Viet Nam was investigated by Tran et al. [4]. Tran et al. studied about cyclic and linear siloxanes in indoor air in northern cities in Viet Nam [5].
