Dermal Papilla Cells (DPCs) are mesenchymal cells residing at the base of the hair follicles. They play an important role in the hair cycle remodeling and hair follicle regeneration. In conclusion, the protocol is established to isolate and culture DPCs from hair follicle bulbs, and ALP activity is suggested as the major marker for distinguishing DPCs and human fibroblasts.

Prevascularization and mechanical stimulation have been reported as effective methods for the construction of functional bone tissue. However, their combined effects on osteogenic differentiation and its mechanism remain to be explored. Here, the effects of fluid shear stress (FSS) on osteogenic differentiation of rat bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) when cocultured with human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were investigated, and underlying signaling mechanisms were further explored.

To promote and enhance the biological responses of implant hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings, these are modified by substitution with various ions for the development of bioactive bone implants. In the present work, we have fabricated a MgO/Tb,Eu-HAP dual substituted hydroxyapatite coating on borate passivated 316L stainless steel (316L SS) by the electrodeposition method.

Osteogenesis activity of fractions extracted from Clinacanthus nutans was evaluated on an in vitro model using osteoblast MC3T3-E1 cells. The results showed that all fractions, including ethanol (EtOH), n-hexane, ethyl acetate (EtOAc) and butanol (BuOH) were not significantly toxic to the osteoblast cells at the test concentrations of 5, 10, 25, and 50 µg/mL.

Hepatoprotective efficacy of Picrorhiza kurroa in experimentally induced hepatotoxicity in cockerels
Hepatoprotective properties of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Picrorhiza kurroa rhizomes were evaluated in cockerels given acetaminophen @ 500 mg/ body weight orally to induce hepatocellular damage. Ethanolic extract given @ 50 mg/kg body wt and acetaminophen helped in restoration of Hb, PCV, TEC, TLC and lymphocytes and heterophils as well as total protein, albumin and globulin, glucose, cholesterol, bilirubin and activity of AST, ALT, ALP and LDH.

The present study was carried out in TVCC, Hisar on twenty-four dogs affected with venereal granuloma. Affected dogs were divided equally into three groups viz. vincristine therapy (Group I) with 7 day cycle and doxorubicin therapy consisting two groups i.e. Group II with 14 day cycle and group III with 21 day cycle. Blood sample collection was done at weekly interval and before administration of drug i.e. Day 0, 7, 14 in Group I, Day 0, 7, 14, 21, 28 in Group II and Day 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 in Group III. Wheat grain avenin-like proteins (ALPs) belong to a recently discovered class of wheat grain storage protein. ALPs in wheat grains not only have beneficial effects on dough quality but also display antifungal activities, which is a novel observation for wheat storage proteins.

A total of 140 dogs were diagnosed with hepatobiliary disorders based on clinico, hemato-biochemical and diagnostic imaging. Out of which, 32 dogs were diagnosed with diffuse parenchymal disorders with ascites, 32 dogs with diffuse parenchymal disorders without ascites, 24 with focal parenchymal disorders and 52 with biliary tract disorders. Significantly decreased hemoglobin and total erythrocyte count with elevated total leucocyte count and neutrophil count were common hematological abnormalities.

Beta cyfluthrin is widely used multipurpose synthetic pyrethroid. Indiscriminate uses resulting to deleterious effects in animal metabolism. Present study has been designed to investigate the effects of beta cyfluthrin on haemato-biochemical alteration in both the sexes of Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). Beta cyfluthrin was orally administered, 38.0 mg/kg b. wt. (high dose), 12.66 mg/kg b. wt. (mid dose), 4.22 mg/kg b. wt. (low dose) for 90 days with high dose recovery.

To study the impact of radish oil on the possible genotoxic and hepatotoxic effects of hexavalent chromium, male rats were divided into 4 groups. Group 1 served as control, group 2 received radish oil at the recommended human therapeutic dose (0.07 mL/kg) by gavage, group 3 received sodium dichromate dihydrate (SDD) 520 mg/L in drinking water, and group 4 received both SDD and radish oil as previously mentioned in groups 2 and 3. All treatments were continued for six months.

Alpine destinations attract leisure travellers for winter sports, such as skiing, as well as holidaymakers who appreciate natural attractions in all seasons. They also attract activity holidaymakers such as naturalists, mountain cyclists, walkers etc. Although the majority of alpine sports are for recreational purposes a wide range of expeditions and challenges are organised for mountains such as the Everest or the Alps. Lakes may also offer facilities for sea sports such as surfing and skiing.
