Results show that, according to the linear regression analysis, regional annual rainfall is not much fluctuated, the rainy season and annual rainfall tend to decrease, while rainfall in the dry season tends to increase. According to Sen’s slope chart, July rain gains highest increasement, while that of August tends to decrease most. In general, the precipitation concentration index revealed the presence of a high and very high concentration of rainfall.

The knowledge and information on the rainfall dynamics and its distribution over the cropping season are very important for selection of crop varieties and choice of cropping pattern. Block wise historical rainfall data of 24 years (1995 to 2018) of Cuttack District were collected and processed by using Weather cock software to estimate annual, seasonal and monthly rainfall. The analysis of rainfall revealed that the total mean annual rainfall of the district is 1597 mm.

Rainfall data for the period 1957 - 2015 is used to analyze nakshatra-wise, monthly, seasonal and annual variability of rainfall. The analysis of daily rainfall data (1957-2015) indicates that the average annual rainfall for the Aurad region will be 830.5 mm. The lowest and highest recorded annual rainfall was 280.4 and 1337.7 mm respectively.

The aim of the present study is to analysis rainfall time series, detecting potential trends and assessing their significance. The present study shows the increase in southwest monsoon rainfall and decline in post monsoon rainfall for all the districts of south Gujarat. Kuthanagere micro watershed is located in Ramanagar district. It was developed in 1995 with bench mark information on GIS and monitored for 19 years for changes in soil- site characteristics. The normal annual rainfall of the Kuthanagere watershed was 1027.6 mm in 45 rainy days. The area under 3 to 5 per cent slope was considerably reduced (by 6 %) as against increase in area (by 13 %) under 1 to 3 per cent slope class. Further the area under moderate erosion was decreased by 4.66 per cent and that became qualified under none to slight erosion class.

In rainfed agriculture, rainfall has a crucial role to play for suitable crop planning. One hundred nineteen years (1901-2019) annual rainfall data has been analysed to find out yearly meteorological drought occurrence at Damoh district shows that maximum rain 1874.6 mm is in1990 and minimum rainfall is 614 mm in 1993. Annual average rainfall is 1196 mm.

Leaching behaviour of combination product (novaluron 5.25% + indoxacarb 4.5% SC) was investigated in sandy loam soil at 43.31 + 37.13 g a.i. ha-1 (single dose) and 86.62 + 74.26 g a.i. ha-1 (double dose) under laboratory conditions as per average annual rainfall of 400 mm. Residues of novaluron and indoxacarb were estimated at different depths of soil and in leachates with the help of gas liquid chromatography (GLC) equipped with electron capture detector (ECD). Method was validated by performing recovery experiments at different spiking (0.01 - 0.10 mg kg-1 ) levels.

The present study intended to determine potential trends in monthly, seasonal and annual rainfall in the Brahmaputra valley of Assam during 1986-2015, based on observed daily rainfall data from 10 locations. The magnitude of the trends was estimated using TheilSen’s slope method, while statistical significance of the trends was tested using MannKendall rank statistics. Analysis revealed that mean annual rainfall varied from 1653.5 mm in Golaghat to 3676.9 mm in Gossaigaon, with variability in order of 13-32 per cent at different locations.

Groundnut is an important oil seed crop in India cultivated in an area of 6.7 million hectares with a production of 7.0 million tonnes annually. The crop can be grown successfully in areas receiving the rainfall ranging from 600 to 1250 mm. The best soils for groundnut crop are sandy loam, loam and medium black with good drainage system. Present practice of manual harvesting and threshing consumes huge amount of labour to a magnitude of about 175 to 200 women h ha-1The highest average effective field capacity obtained using tractor drawn groundnut digger shaker was 0.35 ha h-1 .

Variability in climate regimes of rainfall and temperature is a source of biotic and abiotic stresses in agricultural systems worldwide. This study examines seasonal and annual rainfall and temperature variability in rice, wheat and jute crop productivity for five decades (1972–2012) under long-term fertilizer experiment in alluvial soils of eastern India. The climatic variations and impacts were captured using a standardized precipitation index (SPI), diurnal temperature range (DTR) and crop productivity index (CPI).
