The lithium titanate (LTO) nanoparticles have been prepared by a chemical and green synthesis method and characterized by XRD, FE-SEM, FTIR, Raman, CV and EIS analysis. The XRD result ensured that the LTO exhibits a cubic spinel structure with the space group of Fd3m. The surface morphology of the prepared anode materials has been studied by FE-SEM and TEM analysis.

This study we attempt to (i) discover a better performing electrode material to minimize the internal resistance of the MFC, (ii) modify the anodic electrode spacing to determine a design that better supports the electrochemical activity of acting bacteria, and (iii) reduce losses during the electron transfer process (from the electron donor at the anode to the electron acceptor at the cathode) via optimization of the cathode oxygen supply rate and the external resistance using polarization analysis.

Electrochemical double-layer capacitors store electrical energy at the phase boundary between an electronic conductor (electrode) and a liquid ionic conductor (electrolyte solution). In contrast to that, electrostatic space charge layers at dielectric oxide films, formed anodically on etched aluminum or tantalum foils of conventional electrolytic capacitors, should not be confused with the electrochemical double layer.
