The paper "The behavior analysis of bolted end-plate connections under static load by using finite element method" investigates the mechanical behavior of bolted end-plate beam-to- column connections with changes of thin of end-plate and size of bolts under bending moment. The finite element models are generated in ANSYS software, in specially all of meshes are hexahedral meshes as well as be continuous at welding. The results obtained from this study are validated based on three factors: loading capacity, moment resistance and joint rotation.

DPF is an important device in the exhaust system of Diesel engine. In this paper we simulate velocity and pressure distributions in DPF to determine kinematic and hydraulic characteristics. This will provide the basis for designing and selecting size of channels in DPF. Numerical simulations were made using ANSYS Fluent commercial software and OpenFOAM open-source software.

In this paper, the skewing slot is applied to the PM surface mounted Brushless DC Motor 20kW 36 slots and 12 magnet poles (Z = 36, p = 12) for eliminating torque ripples. To observe the skewing stator effect, the stator lamination layers are skewed with different angles. With determined skewing angle, the cogging torque eliminated theoretically and flux density space harmonics are also reduced

This report presents the results on the modeling and optimization the systems of two buoys for wave energy converter. The first is a floater. The second is a semi-submerged body. The energy is converted from the relative motion between the two buoys by the linear generator. For simulation in three dimensions, the system of equations (6 modes of motions) has been obtained. The governing equations are solved by ANSYS AQWA software and Matlab tools.

This paper presents an inverse method for finding quantity of heat sources in high speed spindle. A commercial ANSYS software and Conjugate Gradient optimization method are used to construct the proposed inverse method. Simulations for different number of measurementpoints andlocations are performed. These results show that excellent estimation on heat generation can be obtained through using only two measurement points. The current methodology will provide a useful tool to investigate the complex heat transfer process in the high speed spindle.

Low carbon steel with temperature-dependent thermal properties due to very high welding temperature is considered.
