The present study was conducted to determine and to compare the microbial population of ATM and computer keyboard within the University of Port Harcourt and also to determine the role of plasmid and resistance in Staphylococcus sp isolated from the high touch areas. A total of 70 swabbed samples was collected and cultured on different media and the organisms were identified using its colonial, morphological biochemical characteristics. The identified bacteria were subjected to antibiotic sensitivity test using the disc diffusion method.

The aim of this study is to determine the antimicrobial resistance profile patterns to 15 antibiotics and heavy metals (Zn+2, Cu+2 and Cd+2) by Pantoeaagglomerans bacteria. The (MIC) of the heavy metals was varied from 200 µg /mL to 2200 µg/mL. The results showed that the bacteria were resistant to Zn+2, Cu+2 and Cd+2, considering the MIC values compared with the strain Escherichia coli K-12 used as control. P.

The present study was carried out to detect the sensitivity pattern and prevalence of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) at tertiary care hospital, Surendranagar. Total 1776 Clinical specimens were studied. All the isolates were identified by standard microbiological procedures like gram staining, colony morphology on solid culture media and biochemical reactions. Antibiotic sensitivity testing was done for all isolates by modified Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method. Total 194 Staphylococcus aureus were tested for MRSA by Cefoxitin disc diffusion test...

Vitamins are essential for various biological responses in the human body and various researches indicated its role in immunity. With water soluble vitamins, B complex is being the most commonly prescribed supplements in clinical practice. This study was undertaken to find out in vitro effect of water soluble vitamin B complex against antibiotics commonly prescribed for respiratory infections caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae. 50 isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae were isolated from sputum samples and their antibiotic sensitivity patterns were performed.

The objective was to assess the distribution of urinary tract bacterial pathogens and to determine the antibiotic susceptibility profile of the isolates in our setting. Single positive cultures with a colony count of >105 CFU on CLED medium were identified and their antibiotic sensitivity and resistance profile was depicted in the form of an antibiogram.

Among the other 12 inpatient MRSA isolates which had the pvl gene, nine were sensitive to most of the non- beta lactam antibiotics, whereas remaining three were resistant to most of the antibiotics except vancomycin and linezolid. The presence of pvl gene can no longer be used to discriminate between CA-MRSA and HA-MRSA.

Mastitis has been a major problem to the dairy industry and pose main impact on the economy of dairy farmers. Antibiotic resistance is increasing day by day and has become a big challenge worldwide with public health significance. In the present study antimicrobial resistance and sensitivity pattern of mastitis milk samples were assessed during the period from August, 2015 to March, 2020 at State level diagnostic laboratory, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati.

Eye is a complex and sensitive organ and is therefore more vulnerable to trauma and various infections. Indian population is vulnerable to infections of eye by virtue of subtropical climate, trauma and iatrogenic procedures. Infectious endophthalmitis is a threatening and potentially devastating intra ocular infection caused by an array of organisms.

Neonatal septicemia is a clinically diagnosed condition having diverse etiology and changing antibiotic sensitivity pattern. The knowledge of common bacterial agents causing septicemia and their antibiogram is useful in deciding empirical antimicrobial therapy. The neonatal blood cultures were studied to know the bacterial species and their antibiotic sensitivity pattern. Aim of the study is to evaluate sensitivity pattern of bacterial isolates causing neonatal septicemia and to know clinical outcome of the cases.

Microbiological infection plays vital role in determining the outcome as well as cost and duration of the hospital stay for patients admitted in ICU setup. Of late nosocomial infections especially ventilator associated pneumonias (VAP) have been recognized to be associated with significant morbidity and mortality in intubated patients. It is of critical importance to do regular surveillance of important pathogen (like Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), extended spectrum beta lactamase (ESBL) and carbapenemase producers) and its resistance pattern.

In recent times, the treatment of Staphylococcus aureus infection has become problematic because of emergence of resistance to antibiotics which is a cause of concern for all the clinicians and microbiologists worldwide. Infections caused by MRSA have been associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. Hence this study was conducted to know the prevalence of Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus [MRSA] isolates in various clinical specimens and to determine the sensitivity of these isolates to different antimicrobial agents.

Mechanical ventilation is a life-saving procedure, but it is associated with a high risk of acquiring respiratory infections. Hence to prevent it and initiate empirical antimicrobial therapy, knowledge of microbial profile and their local antimicrobial sensitivity pattern are essential. A prospective analytical study of Endotracheal tube (ETT) aspirates of mechanically ventilated patients in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was done over a period of six months (Dec2015-May2016).
