Aspirational districts

This study presents an intervention designed to foster the implementation of health promotion programs within District Municipality Community Centers (DMCCs) in Jerusalem, and the creation of a peer network of healthy settings with a shared aspiration of collaborating and implementing health-promoting policies at the community level. We also present the evaluation strategy, based on the EQUIHP and RE-AIM frameworks.

An attempt was made to develop a standardized scale to analyze the attitude of farmers towards livelihood diversificationusing summated rating methods suggested by Likert and Edwards. The attitude scale developed was found to be highly reliable and valid. The final attitude scale consisted of 15 statements and this scale was administered to 30 farmers in Chikkaballapura district in Karnataka during 2017-2018 to analyse their attitude of farmers towards livelihood diversification. These farmers were personally interviewed using schedule.

Aspirational districts programme was launched by the government of India in 2017 to raise the living standards of people in 115 backward districts of the country by focusing on five key sectors which included among others health and nutrition. Nutritional status of children and socio-economic status in the ten aspirational district of Odisha were studied.

Land is a non-renewable natural resource and centre to all crop production systems. Due to increasing population, per capita land availability decreases, but increasing aspirations of the people make it important to get greater returns from land per unit of land. To achieve the maximum and sustainable return, agroforestry provides security to improve the economic status and livelihood with traditional agriculture. To study the present land use scenario in Nalanda district of Bihar, a field study was conducted through questionnaire survey among 140 families in 75 percent blocks of the district.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can be a key enabler and a vital component of the new knowledge-based economy and is capable of revolutionizing the process of information dissemination and knowledge management. In such a resilient backdrop, the present study attempts to assess the extent of ICT usage by an agricultural extension professional for guiding the farming community for sustainable agriculture development and restoring social sustainability.

To improve mother and child health, the WHO support will focus on developing and implementing the Adolescent Health Plan, implementing the Integrated Mother, Newborn and Child Health Strategic Plan, increasing and improving the provision of quality services at the health facility level, ensuring availability of adequate resources, achieving and sustaining high-level routine immunization coverage and all services integrated under the RED (Reach Every District) approach, and introducing Pentavalent and other new vaccines countrywide.
