Baramati area

The present investigation emphasizes on study of fresh water algae from surrounding area of Baramati city in Pune district of Maharashtra. Investigation shows that 23 genus algae were observed along with 25 species from 8 samples were isolated. These microalgae belonging to three major classes Chlorophyceae 11 sp., Bacillariophyceae 07 sp., Cyanophyceae 06 sp., Euglenophyceae 01 sp. and Batrachospermaceae 01 sp. Maximum algal genera belong to Chlorophyceae class was recorded.

Present investigation emphasizes on isolation and identification of soil fungi of banana (Musa paradisiaca L.) fields from Baramati area of Pune district of Maharashtra. The isolation of soil fungi was done by using serial dilution method and Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium. Morphological characters of fungi were used for their identification. Total 22 fungal species were recorded throughout the study. The contribution of Deuteromycotina was 63.63% followed by Zygomycotina 18.18%, Ascomycotina 13.63% and Mastigomycotina 4.54%.

Macro-fungi are the fungal species that produce fruiting bodies visible to naked eyes and occurs widely in the rainy season. The macro-fungi plays important role in nutrient dynamics, soil health, as pollution indicator, species mutualism and its interaction and even has its economic role in carbon cycling and the mobilization of nitrogen and phosphorous. Present investigation emphasizes on study of macro-fungi from Baramati area of Pune district of Maharashtra. During the study frequent field visits, listing of genera and their species, identification and photography has done.
