Based on the nucleotide variation
-
Copy Number Variations (CNVs) are usually inferred from Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) arrays by use of some software packages based on given algorithms. However, there is no clear understanding of the performance of these software packages; it is therefore difficult to select one or several software packages for CNV detection based on the SNP array platform.

Calling genetic variations from sequence reads is an important problem in genomics. There are many existing methods for calling various types of variations. Recently, Google developed a method for calling single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) based on deep learning. Their method visualizes sequence reads in the forms of images.

Development of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) marker is an important step to initiate the molecular breeding and genetic based studies. Identification and validation of polymorphic SNP will be valuable resource for gene tagging through linkage mapping/QTL mapping. In present study, two ecological ecotypes of Arabidopsis thaliana i.e. Col-0 and Don-0 exhibited variation at phenotypic level (leaf, flower, siliques and root related traits) and genotypic level (SNPs). Out of 500 SNPs, total 365 polymorphic SNPs were validated on Sequenome MassARRAY.

Iron and Zinc are the key ingredient in human nutrition, soil and crop management. Rice is the major dietary source for the population in India but it is deficient in iron and zinc. An effort was made to quantify the iron and zinc content in brown, white and cooked white rice and to study the effect of nucleotide variations in genes associated with zinc. 14 genotypes were selected and grown in field at UAS, GKVK in RCBD, during Kharif-2014. Quality parameter zinc in brown rice showed negative effect on yield.

Molecular genetic markers correspond to highly potent source for the study of plant genomes and the association of inherited phenotypic traits with underneath genetic variation. Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNPs) are most abundant form of molecular genetic marker which represents a single nucleotide difference between two individuals at a defined location. Compare to others SNPs are direct sequence variation which offers the precise nature of the allelic variants among different genotypes. Further, it signify recurrent type of genetic polymorphism with high density genome coverage.

To investigate the molecular characteristics and genotype distribution of Pneumocystis jirovecii in HIV/AIDS patients who were admitted to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Subjects and methods: Prospective and cross-sectional description. 31 HIV/AIDS patients infected with P. jirovecii and confirmed by bronchoscopy and realtime PCR from 01 - 2014 to 12 - 2017 were included for this study. Results and conclusions: Nucleotide analysis revealed that no nucleotide alteration occured in the loci β-TUB, CYB, DHFR, DHPS, whereas minor variable positions were observed in the SOD locus.
