A field experiment was conducted at the Adaptive Research Station, Sakhigopal, Puri during kharif-2012 to study the morpho-physiological basis of yield variation in the newly released rice genotypes. Nine rice genotypes such as Tanmayee, Mrunalini, Tejaswini, Swarna, OR-2327-23, OR-2324-8, Pratikhya, Hiranmayee and Swarna sub-1 were taken into test under shallow water depth condition in the field in a randomised block design (RBD) in three replications.

The present investigation was conducted during two consecutive years 2012 and 2013 to understand the possible mechanism of salinity tolerance to wheat under water logging condition. Fifteen genotypes of wheat were screened on the basis of survival of the seedling kept under water logging for 10 days in sodic field. Five centimeter deep water logging was created for ten days at 30-day stage of seedling by providing irrigation and at 40 DAS water was drained from field.

The present investigation was planned to evaluate fruit quality parameters in different chilli genotypes. So those, the present identify suitable genotype for early planting. In this study, compare the yield performance along with physiological and biochemical parameters of early and timely sown hot pepper genotypes. On the basis of physiological, biochemical parameters and yield, genotype PL-412 performed best and can be used for breeding programs for chilli production for early season crop.

Physiological traits play an important role in crop growth and development. Comparative investigation on small millets, with respect different physiological traits such as leaf area index, leaf area duration, specific leaf weight, chlorophyll content, gas exchange parameters etc. and their relationship with grain yields were meager, and will be useful in small millets improvement.

Characterization of mushroom strains on the basis of physiological conditions and enzymatic activity
A study on 18 strains of mushrooms belonging to 5 genera namely Agaricus, Calocybe, Lentinula, Pleurotus, Tricholomawas done for biochemical and physiological studies. These strains were obtained from Directorate of Mushroom Research, Solan and Mushroom Lab, RPCAU, Pusa. Radial growth measurement of mycelium for optimum growth conditions for all the strains were recorded with respect to different media, temperature and pH. The biochemical screening of enzymatic activities for all the strains was also done for lipase, amylase, laccase and oxidase.

The present investigation was carried out with 32 diverse genotypes of bread wheat in completely randomized block design with 3 replications at Norman E. Borlaug Crop Research Centre, G.B. Pant University of agriculture & Technology Pantnagar for screening the genetic diversity for yield and physiological traits under normal sown condition. The observations were recorded on 16 agronomic traits and 3 physiological traits. The statistical analysis for genetic divergence was done using Mahalanobis-D 2 statistics and clustering of genotypes was done using Tocher method.

Photosynthesis is an important physiological process in plants. It plays a crucial role in plant growth and development. In this study, we investigated the impact of zerovalent cobalt nanoparticles on the photosynthesis and expressing of gene involving in this process in leave of soybean Glycine max (L.) Merr “DT26” at different growth stages. The results showed that treatment of zerovalent cobalt nanoparticles made in Vietnam and USA (with two doses of 0.17 and 16.

Six strains were isolated from Lake Akşehir (Konya-Turkey) and identified as Rhodopseudomonas palustris on the basis of physiological and morphological characteristics. The strains grew phototrophically on a variety of aromatic compounds (under illuminated anaerobic conditions), namely, benzoate, hippurate, benzyl alcohol, 2-amino benzoic acid, phloroglucinol, phenylacetic acid, catechol, pyridine and pyrazoline.
