The experiment was carried out on 72 healthy muscovy ducks starting at 28 days old to assess the effect of banana stems (Musa sapientum L) fermented with molasses, biochar and with or without vinasse on weight growth of muscovy duck (Cairina moschata). Four treatments and three replications made up a completely randomized design (CRD) of the experiment. Each batch is an experimental unit, each experimental unit consists of 6 muscovy ducks.

Hydrolysis of lignocellulosic substrates is usually performed by enzymes produced and secreted by the fungus Trichoderma reesei. Studies identifying transcription factors involved in the regulation of cellulase production have been conducted but no overview of the whole regulation network is available.

In the present investigation, we have described optimization of environmental and nutritional requirements for maximum biosynthesis of ADI from bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa PS2. We observed that batch time 25 h, inoculum age 20 h, 8% (v/v) inoculum size, pH 6.5 and temperature 37 °C were found as the most suitable operating conditions for ADI production. Galactose, peptone, KH2PO4 and L-arginine were found as the best carbon, nitrogen, mineral ion and inducer for ADI production, respectively.

This study presents a new halophilic bacterial strain named Yangia sp. ND 218 which was isolated from the Giao Thuy mangrove, Nam Dinh Province, Vietnam which grew and accumulated PHA in a high salt medium. The possibility of designing an open (unsterile) fermentation process using Yangia sp. ND 218 was investigated.

This research focused on technical assessment of GABA production from rice bran through fermentation by Lactobacillus brevis. Influence of operating pressure on separation of GABA by nanofiltration membrane was investigated and 4 bar was suitable for the nanofiltration process. The purification of GABA by nanofiltration with constant feed volume was carried out and purity of GABA reached 4.8 folds, compared to feed, at 5 volumes of added water. At 40 of concentration factor in concentration of GABA solution by nanofiltration with full recycle of retentate, content of GABA reached 49.8 g/L.

The bacterium could accumulate high PHB content during the exponential phase. Maximum cell dry weight (CDW) of 7.8 g/l and PHB content of 49 wt% were obtained after 27 h of cultivation in batch fermentation. High CDW and PHB content were achieved by using fedbatch fermentation with different fructose feeding strategies.
