Bauhinia L.

This study allowed us to discover the antibacterial potential of hydroethanolic extracts of Bauhinia rufescens L. and Euphorbia hirta L. on pathogenic enterobacteria. These two plants from the traditional Chadian pharmacopoeia are used in the treatment of gastroenteritis in children and adults. The results obtained justify their use.

The vascular supply of the proximal, middle, and distal parts of the petiole were studied in 11 caesalpinioid species with the aim of documenting any changes in vascular anatomy that occurred within and between the petioles. The characters that proved to be taxonomically useful include vascular trace shape, pericyclic fibre forms, number of abaxial and adaxial vascular bundles, number and relative position of secondary vascular bundles, accessory vascular bundle status.

A comparative foliar epidermal micromorphology of 5 species of Bauhinia L. belonging to family Leguminosae (Fabaceae) was conducted with a view to elucidating their taxonomic significance and presenting complementary data to aid in the identification of the species.

Móng bò vàng (Bauhinia tomentosa L) Cây Ban, còn có tên: cây móng bò, hoa Ban, thuộc chi Bauhinia thuộc họ Diệp (Caesalpiniaceae) hay họ phụ Điệp (Caesalpinioideae). Cây ban cho hoa rất đẹp, là biểu tượng (quốc hoa) của Hồng Kông (Kim tử kinh). Nước ta có rất nhiều loài hoa Ban mọc hoang trong rừng và nhiều nhất ở các tỉnh miền Tây Bắc. Các loài sau đây thường được trồng làm cảnh hay làm thuốc ở khắp nơi: MÓNG BÒ ĐỎ (còn gọi cây Ban đỏ, cây Bướm đỏ, cây Móng lạc đà), tên khoa học Bauhinia purpurea L....
