Bio colorant

In this study, we investigated the total protein index, total anthocyanins and delphinidin 3.5'- diglucoside contents from black bean and fermented bean by Aspergillus oryzae using different steaming process. Based on the research results, it is possible to orient the production of fermented bean products with high nutritional contents and natural colors, without using chemicals.

The present study was carried out to justify acceptability of Red Yeast Rice Powder (RYRP) as a colorant. Addition of 1.0 percent Red Yeast Rice powder to lemon juice and buttermilk was scored highest in terms of color, texture and appearance parameters.

The present study was carried out to determine acceptability of Red Yeast Rice Powder as a colorant. On the basis of findings, it was concluded that the products prepared by using Red Yeast Rice powder as a colorant could be considered as the best from both nutritional and sensory point of view.

Collar rot or damping off disease occurs on one to four month old tender coffee (Coffea Arabica) seedlings in the nursery. Sometimes, the collar rot pathogen infects coffee seeds sown on the seed beds and prevents the germination. However, the pathogen fails to establish in coffee seedlings when the stem at collar region turns brown in color and becomes harder. It is a soil inhibiting fungus with a wide host range including coffee.

A non-diffusable yellow pigmented isolate (Y_01) was isolated from a week-long enrichment of fecal sample of Indian rock python in cholesterol minimal medium. Basic biochemical characterization followed by 16S ribosomal DNA sequencing and Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization method led to identification of the isolate as Micrococcus luteus. Nutrient broth (pH 7.4) supplemented with 2.5% NaCl was used as the growth medium with incubating conditions of 37˚C for 24 hours as ideal scenario.

Pseudomonas fluorescens is an aerobic, gram-negative, ubiquitous bacterium present in agricultural soils that is well adapted to grow in the rhizospheric as well as phyllospheric zone. An experiment was conducted at Shree Agrasen Kanya P.G. College, Varanasi, U.P. India aimed to determine the morphological features of P. fluorescens as well as to carry out the process and method of its commercial production of powder formulation of the bio-control agent P. fluorescens 1 % W.P for its effective use at field.

Blue banded bees are solitary bees which are characterized by their glittering blue color bands on their abdomen. They construct their nests and brood cells for their young ones in soils. The developmental biology of blue banded bees is maximum sixty days and varied according to climatic conditions. They are polylectic and wild pollinators playing major role in crop pollination. Research on blue banded bees is very limited and less studies. In this review we will focus on diversity, bio-ecology and behavior of blue banded bees.

Current research efforts are directed towards native entomopathogenic fungi which are highly virulent to insect pests to develop efficient and eco-friendly bio-pesticides. From the insect cadavers fifteen different fungal isolates were isolated on DOC2-50% selective media and were identifying as isolates of Aspergillus tamari, A. niger and A. flavus. All the fifteen isolates showed variation in all the morphological characters studied. Highest mean colony diameter (mm) was reported in isolate EPF-14 at all the time intervals.

Research on bio-activated carbon wastewater treatment material prepared from Macadamia shells using KOH activating agent at the rate of 1KOH: 1 piece of activated carbon is carried out through influencing factors of temperature and time. The research result of Methylene blue (MB) absorption ability at respectively optimal temperature and time of 200oC and 60 minutes of activated carbon shows that 1g of activated carbon will absorb 91,50mg of Methylene Blue.

The research result of Methylene blue (MB) absorption ability at respectively optimal temperature and time of 500oC and 60 minutes of activated carbon shows that 1g of activated carbon will absorb 116,91mg of Methylene Blue. The result shows that the color treating efficiency of the Methylene Blue (MB) is 97.
