In this study, at least 24 RNA-Seq datasets related to blast disease infection in rice plants have been obtained from databases. Among them, four microarray datasets obtained from blast-infected leaf samples in Indica rice varieties, including GSE122258, GSE126961, GSE78266 and GSE39635 were selected for further in silico analysis.

Balancing the yield, quality and resistance to disease is a daunting challenge in crop breeding due to the negative relationship among these traits. Large-scale genomic landscape analysis of germplasm resources is considered to be an efficient approach to dissect the genetic basis of the complex traits.

The mixed-lineage leukemia (MLL) gene is located on chromosome 11q23. The MLL gene can be rear‑ ranged to generate partial tandem duplications (MLL-PTD), which occurs in about 5-10% of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with a normal karyotype and in 5-6% of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is currently one of the curative therapies available for AML and MDS with excess blasts (MDS-EB).

Disease relapse remains common following treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and is due to chemoresistance of leukemia cells with disease repopulating potential. To date, attempts to define the characteristics of in vivo resistant blasts have focused on comparisons between leukemic cells at presentation and relapse.

The genus Pyricularia (anamorph)/Magnaporthe (teleomorph) causes blast disease on a broad range of plants including rice, foxtail millet and other species of the family Poaceae. The infected leaves of foxtail millet with typical spindle shaped lesions of light tan in colour, dusty gray appearance with necrotic borders were collected from various regions of Tamil Nadu during 2017 and 2018 and the pathogen was isolated from the samples. The collected isolates were named as TNFxM1 to TNFxM32.

A major issue in rice production is the control of Magnaporthe oryzae, the causal agent of rice blast. K 343 being a well adapted variety in the hill zone of Jammu and Kashmir region is susceptible to blast. Present study was undertaken to introgress the broad spectrum resistance gene Pi9 through marker assisted backcross breeding in order to avoid the losses due to this fungus.

Rice (Oryza sativa) occupies a prime position in the family Poaceae and it is the highly consumable crop of almost half of the world's population. Among the various diseases affecting rice, blast incited by Magnaporthe oryzae is the one of the ubiquitous and economically important disease which affects almost all the stages of crop and cause yield loss upto 50%. In the present study, survey was carried out in Nilgiri and Madurai districts of Tamil Nadu for the collection of blast isolates. The blast disease incidence ranged from 8.8 to 42.4 per cent in various rice cultivars.

Pearl millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.)R.Br.] one of the common millets grown as a nutrient-rich food source for human and as a fodder crop for livestock. Among the several diseases, the blast caused by Pyricularia grisea (Cooke) Sacc. has emerged as a serious disease affecting both forage and grain production in pearl millet resulting economic loss.Survey was carried out in major pearl millet growing districts of Madhya Pradesh viz., Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Datia, jhabua, Alirajpur presented in Table 7 to find out the incidence of Blast during July to nov.

A survey was conducted on Swarna cultivar (MTU 7029) of rice during Kharif 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 at Nadia district of West Bengal to record the fungal disease and their respective yield loss. Ten diseases (Leaf blast, Sheath blight, Sheath rot, Brown spot, Brown Leaf Spots caused by Curvularia lunata, Stackburn disease, Leaf spot caused by Nigrospora oryzae, Stem rot, Rotting by Choanephora cucurbitarum and False smut) were based on visual observation on Swarna rice cultivar and yield loss due to respective disease was calculated by measuring test weight (gm) of rice grains.

Rice is staple food for more than half of the world’s population. The fast growth of the world population demands an increase of 26 % in rice production to fulfill the requirement. The rice blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae is considered to be the most significant and potentially damaging rice disease in the world and has been responsible for 35 to 50 % global loss in rice yield causing serious constraint in global food supply.

Mixed phenotype acute leukemias (MPAL) include acute leukemias with blasts that express antigens of more than one lineage, with no clear evidence of myeloid or lymphoid lineage differentiation. Detailed molecular cytogenetic characterization of the complex rearrangement in the reported T/My MPAL case allowed us to observe ADAMTS2 gene overexpression, identifying a molecular marker that may be useful for monitoring minimal residual disease.
