In this work, the kinetic electrochemical degradation of Cartap (CT) (in Padan 95 SP) at boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode was investigated. This study indicated that the degradation of CT underwent both direct and indirect oxidations. Water matrices can either accelerate or inhibit the removal efficiency of CT: adding 15 mM Cl- improved kCT from 0.039 min–1 to 0.054 min–1 (increased by 38%), while kCT decreased by 61.5% and 64% when increasing the concentration of HCO3 - and humic acid (HA) to 15 mM and 15 mg L–1, respectively.

This paper aimed to determine the grey water footprint (GWF) of geothermal water resources and to investigate the effect of biochar adsorption on grey water footprint in Southeastern Turkey. In this paper, GWF has been calculated in terms of iron (Fe), arsenic (As), manganese (Mn), boron (B), and chrome (Cr) concentrations for fifteen observation geothermal resources located in Southeastern Anatolia Region. In this study, a new approach based on the GWF was developed in order to determine the geothermal water pollution.

This paper presents a simple, rapid, and accurate voltammetric method for determination of boron in water and steel samples using a disposable pencil graphite electrode. The oxidation of Tiron in the boron–Tiron complex in phosphate buffer at pH 7.5 was measured as a response. Type and concentration of supporting electrolyte, pH, ionic strength, Tiron concentration, scan rate, step amplitude, pulse amplitude, and pencil grade were investigated as the parameters affecting the peak current.

Post transcriptional gene regulation in wheat cultivars caused by boron (B) toxicity has not been reported to date. In this study, two wheat cultivars Bolal-2973 (B-tolerant) and Atay-85 (B-sensitive) were compared with regard to the transcriptional regulation of miR319, miR172 and miR398 and their plausible target genes in order to address differences in their performances under high B levels. The expression levels of Cu/ZnSOD gene were found to be greater in Atay exposed to toxic B compared to Bolal, as verified by stable expression level of miR398.

The purpose of this study was to compare the adsorption behavior of cationic and anionic dyes onto a hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) nanostructure that was rich in a negative charge. Herein, the hBN nanostructure was synthesized using boric acid as a precursor material. The characteristic peaks of the hBN nanostructure were performed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopies. The morphology and the particle size of hBN nanostructure were determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

A field experiments was carried out at Horticulture Garden of the Department of Fruit Science, C. S. Azad University of Agriculture & Technology Kanpur (U.P.) during 2018-19 and 19-20. In this work, the equipment was used to investigate the distribution of lithium (7Li) and boron (11B) in the outer oxide at the bow contact area. Depth profiling in the clad oxide at the opposite side of the rod to the point of contact, which is considered to have experienced normal operating conditions and which has a typical oxide thickness, evidenced levels of ∼10–20 ppm 7Li and a 11B content reaching hundreds of ppm in the outer parts of the oxide, largely in agreement with the expected range of Li and B clad oxide concentrations from previous studies.

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of exogenous application of boron and zinc at different concentrations at three important growth stages (flushing, flowering and fruiting) on leaf area, chlorophyll content, carotenoids, stomatal count and yield of cashew var. Bhaskara. Irrespective of growth stages, foliar application of zinc sulphate (0.5%) + borax (0.1%) was found to be superior in all the parameters.

A field experiment was carried out to study the effect of different methods and levels of zinc and boron application on growth and yield of rice under acid soils of hilly zone of Karnataka during Kharif season of 2017 at Sakaleshpura. Boron is an essential micronutrient for plants and animals; however, it can be toxic when present at high concentrations. The purpose of this study was to understand the mechanisms of boron tolerance in the Turkish barley (Hordeum vulgare) Anadolu cultivar. For this purpose, 2-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) was used to screen differentially expressed proteins for both control and boron-stressed Anadolu barley genotypes.

This result indicates that the B-exclusion mechanism is not involved in differential expression of B tolerance within 70 durum wheat genotypes. It seems very likely that the internal mechanisms (e.g., adsorption to cell walls and compartementation of B in vacuoles) could be a more plausible explanation for B tolerance in the durum wheats tested in the present study.
