To explore the value of six machine learning models based on PET/CT radiomics combined with EGFR in predicting brain metastases of lung adenocarcinoma. Retrospectively collected 204 patients with lung adenocarcinoma who underwent PET/CT examination and EGFR gene detection before treatment from Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University in 2020.

The partitioned survival model (PSM) and the state transition model (STM) are widely used in costeffectiveness analyses of anticancer drugs. Using different modeling approaches with or without consideration of brain metastasis, we compared the quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) estimates of Osimertinib and pemetrexedplatinum in advanced non-small cell lung cancer with epidermal growth factor receptor mutations.

Brain metastasis is a common outcome in non-small cell lung cancer, and despite aggressive treatment, its clinical outcome is still frustrating. In recent years, immunotherapy has been developing rapidly, however, its therapeutic outcomes for primary lung cancer and brain metastases are not the same, suggesting that there may be differences in the immune microenvironment of primary lung cancer and brain metastases, however, we currently know little about these differences.

Glioblastoma belongs to the most common and most aggressive tumor entity of the central nervous system with a poor prognosis of only few months. Once manifested, it grows fast and diffusely by infiltrating the surrounding brain parenchyma. Despite its aggressive behavior, glioblastoma rarely presents with multiple lesions and metastasis to intra- and extracranial tissues.

Ovarian cancer is metastatic at presentation in about 62% of cases, but brain metastases are rare, reported in 3.3–4% of patients. Brain metastasis seems to be more frequent in advanced stages at diagnosis and in patients with BRCA1/2 mutation.

The abscopal effect is a phenomenon in which a tumor located far from irradiated lesions regresses. We have experienced a case in which both intracranial and extracranial lesions showed an abscopal effect after radiotherapy for spinal metastases of unknown primary. We report the diferential abscopal effect in extracranial and intracranial lesions.

We created discriminative models of different regions of interest (ROIs) using radiomic texture features of neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI) and evaluated the feasibility of each model in differentiating glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) from solitary brain metastasis (SBM).

Brain metastases (BMs) are the most frequent intracranial tumours associated with poor clinical outcomes. Radiotherapy is essential in the treatment of these tumours, although the optimal radiation strategy remains controversial. The present study aimed to assess whether whole brain radiation therapy with a simultaneous integrated boost (WBRT + SIB) provides any therapeutic beneft over WBRT alone.

Metastases to the kidney from lung cancer are very rare and are usually therefore recognized at autopsy. A 71-year-old man visited the urology department due to symptoms of worsening hematuria. An abdominal computed tomography scan showed a right renal mass. After a nephrectomy, he was diagnosed with small cell lung carcinoma, and further investigation showed small cell lung cancer in the central area of the left upper lobe with hepatic, bone and brain metastases.

Meningiomas have been described as the most frequent extra-axial tumor in the brain. Most are benign and correspond to World Health Organization (WHO) grade I; however, there are some reports of cases that shows atypical locations, like subcortical intra-axial meningiomas. This represents a challenge in radiological diagnosis because it could be taken as a metastasis tumor or vascular malformations.

Breast cancer is widely known as the most common cancer in women in the United States. If left untreated, it can have detrimental effects. If the breast cancer is aggressive in nature, it can metastasize to the lymph nodes, bones, liver, lungs, and brain. A rare location of metastasis is the leptomeninges, specifically the pia and arachnoid matter.

Ewing sarcoma is a malignant bone tumor; however, its prognosis has improved since the development of modern chemotherapy. Although Ewing sarcoma outcomes have improved, issues related to late complications, secondary malignant neoplasms, and late recurrence or metastasis have emerged.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most malignant tumors in brain with high morbidity and mortality. Mitophagy plays a significant role in carcinogenesis, metastasis, and invasion. In our study, we aim to construct a mitophagy-related risk model to predict prognosis in GBM.

Patients with breast cancer who overexpress the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and subsequently develop brain metastasis (BM) typically experience poor quality of life and low survival. We conducted a comprehensive literature review to identify prognostic factors for BM and predictors of survival after developing BM, and the effects of therapies with different mechanisms of action among patients with HER2+ breast cancer (BC).

The prognosis of patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is poor, most of them are in the extensive stage at the time of diagnosis, and are prone to brain metastasis. In this study, we established a nomogram combined with some clinical parameters to predict the survival of SCLC patients with brain metastasis.
