Whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci) are phloem sap-sucking pests that because of their broad host range and ability to transmit viruses damage crop plants worldwide. B. tabaci are now known to be a complex of cryptic species that differ from each other in many characteristics such as mode of interaction with viruses, invasiveness, and resistance to insecticides.

Narrow-leafed lupin is an emerging crop of significance in agriculture, livestock feed and human health food. However, its susceptibility to various diseases is a major obstacle towards increased adoption. Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Botrytis cinerea – both necrotrophs with broad host-ranges - are reported among the top 10 lupin pathogens.

The common cutworm, Spodoptera litura Fabricius is a leaf and fruit feeding generalist insect of the order Lepidoptera and a destructive agriculture pest. The broad host range of the herbivore is due to its ability to downregulate plant defense across different plants.

The tomato crop attacked by early blight, late blight, leaf spots, anthracnose, Dampimg off, buckeye rot, wilts and root rots. Among these Damping off diseases in tomato caused by Rhizoctonia solani is very common to see in nurseries, an increased incidence of blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani was noticed in recent past in major tomato growing areas of Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh.

Eleven genotypes of garlic were evaluated for genetic variability and correlation for fifteen quantitative traits. The magnitude of phenotypic coefficient of variation was found greater than the corresponding genotypic coefficient of variation for all the characters indicating the importance of environment in expression of characters.

Fungal phytopathogens are causes of many plant disease and maximum loss of crop yields, especially in tropical regions. Chemical fungicides are extensively used in agriculture. However, these products may cause problems such as environmental pollution and affect human health, microorganism particularly fungi as biocontrol agents have high potential to control plant disease and ecofriendly without side effect on the environments.

As pigeonpea is long duration crop, many flushes of weed germinate at the later stages which compete with the crop. It is therefore, essential to use the post emergence herbicides in conjuction with pre emergence herbicides for the effective control of weeds.

The present study was aimed to evaluate the bioactive phytochemical constituents of Adina cordifolia leaves, with this broad objectives the total phenolic contents (TPC), total flavonoid contents (TFC), total antioxidant potential and GC-MS analysis of leaf extracts were carried out. For the identification of medicinally important compounds in Adina cordifolia leaf, extracts were prepared using cold extraction method in different solvents of varying polarities viz., chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone and methanol.

The field experiment was conducted during Kharif, 2017 at Instructional farm of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur. Experimental field was mostly dominated by grassy weeds namely; Echinochloa colona, Cynodon dactylon, Digitaria sanguinallis with broad leaf weeds; Commelina benghalensis, Digera arvensis, Trianthim aportulcastrum, Amarathus viridis and Parthenium hysterophorus and sedges; Cyperus rotundus. The results indicated that all the herbicidal treatments were significantly superior over weedy check with all parameters.

Through evolution, some plants have developed natural resistance to insects by having hairs (trichomes) on leaves and other tissues. The hairy trait has been neglected in Brassica breeding programs, which mainly focus on disease resistance, yield, and overall crop productivity.

Rice production has an important role in Indian economy and transplanting being most common practice adopted in the country. Transplanted rice encounters diverse type of weed flora consisting of grasses, sedges and broad-leafed weeds as well as sedges. Effective control of these weeds at initial stages can ensure in increasing the productivity of this crop. Weed control in transplanted rice by mechanical and cultural methods is quiet expensive. At peak period of crop weed competition due to labour crises weeding gets delayed.

In the present studies three insect pests viz., blue bug, Chrysocoris purpureus (Westw), leaf webber cum fruit borer, Pempelia morosalis (Saalm Uller) and broad mites, Euseius sp were recorded as major pests. Along with this spider, Oxyopes lineatipes was recorded as predator. The pest succession studies revealed that mean maximum and minimum population of C. purpureus was recorded in 1st fortnight of September (34.24) and 2nd fortnight of October (19.36), nymph and adult / plant, respectively. Mean maximum population of webber was recorded in the month of June 1st fortnight (39.

An experiment was conducted to estimate genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance expressed as per cent of mean in F2 population of two crosses viz., DCS-47-1 × PL-1 and DCS-47-1 × PGCP-12 in cowpea. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the segregants tested for all the sixteen characters. High PCV and GVC were observed for number of secondary branches per plant, leaf to stem ratio, number of pods per plant, green fodder yield per plant, green fodder yield per metre row length and stover yield per plant in both the populations.

Twenty six genotypes of cluster bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] were evaluated to estimate variability, broad sense heritability and genetic advance for pod yield and related attributes, during Rabi 2017. High estimates of GCV and PCV were recorded for number of branches per plant, plant spread at final harvest, fresh pod yield per plant, pod yield per plot, pod yield per hectare, number of pods per cluster, TSS and protein.

Variation induced in C2 generation of African marigold using colchicine treatment was conducted in non-replicated trial with six treatments. The seeds of diploid white marigold were treated with 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 % colchicine at room temperature for 12 hrs. and the seeds collected from individual plants of C1 generation were used for the experiment to raise C2 generation and germinated in protray. Thirty days old seedlings were transplanted in the field with spacing of 45 × 30 cm in ridges and furrow. Observations on seventeen different types of variants viz.

A study on the population dynamics of Polyphagotarsonemus latus in relation to weather parameters was carried out at Instructional Farm, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, Gujarat, India, during the kharif-2018. The incidence of P. latus on sesame (Sesame indicum) was commenced from second week of September and continued till second week of October having a single peak (10.380 mites/leaf) during last week of September in sesame crop. Mites population had positive and significant relationship with bright sunshine hours (BSS) [0.734*].
