Mù u là loài cây đa mục đích và có giá trị kinh tế với vùng ven biển nhiệt đới, thường được trồng làm cây ven đường để lấy bóng mát và chắn gió, cung cấp dầu ép từ quả sử dụng trong y học, gỗ loài này còn có thể sử dụng trong đóng tàu thuyền. Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu nhằm xác định loại, nồng độ chất điều hòa sinh trưởng và mùa vụ tốt nhất cho giâm hom Mù u.

Mục tiêu nghiên cứu nhằm xác định phương pháp ghép và thời vụ tốt nhất trong nhân giống Mù u. Với 3 phương pháp ghép nêm, áp và mắt cho thấy, phương pháp ghép mắt là phương pháp tốt nhất để ghép Mù u với tỷ lệ sống đạt 57%, tỷ lệ bật chồi đạt 54% và chiều cao chồi ghép đạt 10,8 cm sau 60 ngày ghép.

Nghiên cứu đánh giá đa dạng di truyền nguồn gen cây Mù u tại một số tỉnh Nam Bộ là cơ sở để lưu giữ và phát triển, phục vụ cho việc khai thác nguồn gen loài cây này với hiệu quả cao. Kết quả phân tích đa dạng di truyền của 80 mẫu Mù u thu thập tại Bến Tre, Trà Vinh, Sóc Trăng, Bạc Liêu và Cà Mau bằng 5 chỉ thị ISSR đã thu được 43 phân đoạn DNA, trong đó có 27 phân đoạn đa hình chiếm trung bình 63,72%.

This study aims to employ highly efficient ultrasound-assisted extraction of tamanu oil from seed kernel. Response surface methodology (RSM) with Box-Hunter design was used to investigate the simultaneous effects of multi-factors encompassing extraction time, temperature, and solvent-to-material ratio. The optimum combination of those factors was then determined to ensure optimum extraction efficiencies [12, 13]. The extracted oil was evaluated in terms of physicochemical indexes, composition, and wound healing activity.

The current study aims at discriminating the thirty Calophyllum inophyllum progenies thorough the deployment of Inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR) markers. The thirty progenies of Calophyllum inophyllum were collected from the predominant distribution and systematic analysis were carried out to elucidate the genetic divergence at Molecular Biology Lab of Department of Tree Breeding of Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam.

The daily average concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere rose above 400 parts per million (ppm) for the first time on record in 2013, up from 280 ppm before the Industrial Revolution. The CO2 fertilization hypothesis stipulates that rising atmospheric CO2 has a positive effect on tree growth due to increasing availability of carbon. Hence, an attempt was made to understand the response of C. inophyllum seedlings to the elevated CO2 condition when they are grown in nutrient rich soils. Three month old seedlings were subjected to total nine treatments with four replication.

Callophyllum inophyllum oil, also known as Tamanu oil, is reported to treat a wide range of skin problems such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, herpes, hemorrhoids, and injuries caused due to wounds, among others. Liposomes, which are effective carriers for topical treatment of dermal diseases, could enhance the therapeutic efficiency of Tamanu oil. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to formulate and characterize liposomes loading Tamanu oil. Liposomes encapsulating Tamanu oil with different ratios of Phospholipon 90G and L-α-lecithin were prepared using the thin-film hydration technique.

In continuation of our research on the chemical constituents of Calophyllum inophyllum L. (Clusiaceae) [1] we report in this paper the isolation and structure elucidation of tovopyrifolin C (1) and amentoflavone (2). Compounds 1 and 2 were isolated by repeated column chromatography of the resinous part, precipitating from the MeOH extract on addition of n-hexane.
